Where are we going bowling most likely?

Do bowl payouts really matter..doesn't the bowl revenue just get divided per schools? Bowl games have never been a money maker for the Vols anyway. Some years they actually lost money...the big thing is extra practice time and of course recruiting

I’ve been saying the Gator bowl, but the outback bowl is a legit possibility. Would probably be down to UT or A&M.

Yup the conference gets all the bowl money and then divides it evenly among the 14 schools. I believe Ole Miss didn't get their bowl cut the last couple years since they were bowl ineligible, don't know whether Mizzou will get the same treatment.

Not that simple...

For bowl games with receipts of $6 million or more (including all College Football Playoff games), the participating team receives $2.025 million, plus a travel allowance determined by the SEC. If an SEC team makes it to the championship game, it receives another $2.125 million, plus travel allowance.Dec 30, 2017

From what I found the Outback, Citrus, and Texas are the ones that play 6 million or more...the Music City Bowl falls just below and the Gator Bowl pays around 3 mill

This was the closest I found to what it costs teams for bowl games
For small schools, bowl games not always profitable

Sat in a torrential rain at the Citrus Bowl and watched the Vols tune up Eddie George. Long time ago, but I think he still limps from that game. Bill Duff.... "Is that it?"
