Honestly, I have been looking, and just yesterday I saw my first McCain bumper sticker. It was on a beige minivan driven by a 60-something man. I still haven't seen a yard sign.

What's going on? Is it just where I live? I've driven through Republican-dominant neighborhoods and still haven't seen any signs.

I thought you got it? People aren't crazy excited about McCain, they mostly just are disgusted by Obama. In a way I like that, people that get too excited about politicans make me worried.

The GOP Convention is shaping up to be a barn burner then.

If I were him, I wouldn't spend one red cent in NC. Obama is not going to carry a traditional southern state.

So what. That a bad thing to you?

As I said, people that drool over a poltician and get all giddy by the sight of them, worry me. Thus, 90% of the Obama supporters worry me.

90% of the Obama supporters worry me because they are Obama supporters.

who cares about the quality of the convention. They have to perform one function there. Get it over with and move on. We don't need the movie productions that Obama is planning with 'real people.'

Ambivalence is what you get when you have options of this caliber. Frankly, the only reason the Rs are even remotely fired up is because Obama is so ridiculously far left. Any centrist candidate not named Hillary would have waltzed through this election.

I think it's a sad commentary on our society that a large chunk of McCain supporters seem to be ambivalent at best - taking the "lesser of two evils" approach.

Frankly, I like the passion behind Obama's campaign, similar to the passion people had for Reagan. I want to feel good about the leader of my country - that hasn't happened in quite some time.

That is code for.... if you don't vote for me you are a white racist b@$tard!

What are people supposed to put in their yards? A sign that says "McCain - A Viable Alternative"?

I've seen 1 or 2 at most. Maybe a lot of them are regretting the W sticker they put on their car.

As for ambivalence - not me, I'm about as up for McCain as I have been for any other one I've voted for since 1980 but in truth that's pretty close to ambivalence!

I never wear or display any political stuff.

Nobody is excited about this guy. They are just voting against Obama instead of voting for McCain.

I think it can be good commentary on our society when supporters of a candidate are cautious of him or her. Again, the tripping over yourself in excitedness over a candidate, I do not get and am somewhat bothered by.

So I must be the only one that actually likes McCain on the board. Interesting.

He is ok. Not that bothered by him. Like you, I would never put a bumper sticker on my car, sign in my yard, or t-shirt on my back for any candidate. I don't worship them and prefer they keep as much out of my life as possible.

I think you're happier with him than most (on here), but that's your right to have that opinion. I have mine... and he's simply not as bad as Obama. No more, no less.

I will say there is no where near the number of signs and stickers around here that there was in 2004.
