When you think about the talent

So here’s my take/question on recruiting. IMO, we should recruit players who come from winning programs, that are in larger districts from regions with a football focus. And of course, the outliers. So in that scenario, would you believe/assume a 3* who meets aforementioned “requirements be more likely to succeed at this level than a 5* that plays in a smaller district, non-football focused region? Sorry if this elementary but I’m trying to understand recruiting and if Butch did the later and Pruitt does the former.

I believe these kids were rated correctly but was poorly coached. Now we have underdeveloped high rated H.S athletes in their 3rd or 4th year of college. The younger kids still have a chance to reach their full potential with proper coaching.

I think it is very obvious Kyle Phillips, Jonathan Kongbo, and Drew Richmond were extremely overrated so this notion of 5 star talent is pointless which may be the reason UT was able to get them. Shy Tuttle hasn’t been the same since his injury and Chandler was probably better suited for a spread offense. We have got to forget this notion that we are loaded with talent. We have talent at certain positions like JG, Smith, Calloway, and Jordan but we aren’t going to out talent another team in the SEC except maybe Vanderbilt or Kentucky but that is debatable
