When you hire a mediocre coach....

Georgia exposed us for what we really are...a bunch of players with only 0 years to 1 years of SEC player experience.

73% of the starting offense has only 1 year @ UT under their belt
64% of the starting defense has none to only 1 year @ UT under their belt

Our starting Offense consists of the following experience:

3 years: 1 player (Poole)
2 years: 2 players (Zach Rogers, Dallas Thomas)
1 year: 8 players (Bray, Rogers, Bartholomew, Rivera, James, Bullard, Fulton, Stone)

Our starting defense consists of the following experience:

3 years: 1 player (A. Johnson)
2 years: 3 players (Teague - played WR his 1st year, Ben Martin - always seems hurt, Waggner)
1 year: 3 players (Jackson, Smith, Hood)
0 years: 4 players (Maggitt, A.J. Johnson, Lanier, Brewer)

Who, praytell, would have been a better option AND would have taken the job?

I like Dooley as much as the next guy as a person, but we hired 2 coaches back to back who had loosing records. Who in their right minds does that?

If you think about it, everyone is hoping he can win when this team is full of seniors, because hope is all we have right now. If he does win, it will be uncharted territory for him as a head coach.

Hamilton kept his pocket book closed. He was more interested in making money than winning football games(period)

Don't we just love assumptions?

You, my friend, are the one "assuming" if your position is that DD will be a success.

Did Bama "assume" Saban would be successful? Did UF "assume" Meyer?

A Head Coach's history happens to be an excellent predictor of the future.

While as any new coach it does take time. So who should they of hired as you wanted someone else? Just remember none of coaches Tn wanted would look at the job. We will have at or near another top 10 recruiting class. What game do you expect without your best WR tonight? when you loose your best wr and qb during the game and as you know we do not have the depth we will have in year 2 and 3.

I understand we are young, but that excuse only holds up for so long. I've seen hardly any improvement across the board. We've actually regressed in the running game. I like Dooley and his vision for the program but the man is in over his head here. I doubt he will win a title if the league continues to stay as strong as it is.

Be a fan for another school. Fans need to go through difficult times with their favorite teams. It allows to appreciate the winning more.

Frankly, it is fans such as yourself that were "patient" with MH that allowed him to stay in his position and continue to make poor decisions. Geez.........when will this line of thinking ever end.

here is a nice little question replace CDD with Peyton Manning as if he had been coaching for the past 1.5 years and had the same record and problems would you still be pissed and want him fired or would you say give him time we'll be better in a few years

I think the world of Peyton as a player, but hiring him as a coach would be one of the dumbest decisions in NCAA history.

Dooley is right for the job. Did you watch the same game as everyone else? It will take Dooley another two years of recruiting and time. He only really had one year of recruiting. The problem is when someone goes down we don't match up as well as we did before a first player gets hurt. As we get deeper we get better. GO VOLS.

wait?..2 years?...what happened to 2012 is when the Vols will be feared? now it's 2013?..I guess next year it will be 2014.

I'm a big DD fan, and I hated LK while he was at UT, not just the bitter hate a lot of people have. Today was not DD's finest day at all. But we're getting there.

I hate to say this, but wait till next year. Next year, it will be getting close to put up or shut up, and if its not good, unfortunately, Hart may be having a tough call to make.

Dumb thread.... Junior o line... Bray hunter Rogers lane croom arnett Dallas Rivera and possibly coradelle Patterson next yr ... We will roll some defenses....

Not worried.... What do you expect when Janzen gets the boot.... Hunter goes down and 80% of our roster is freshmen and sophomores

Alabama was a wreck when Saban went there and it did not take him 4 years to build a winner. They opened up every alum's wallet to get him and we have hired every "bargain" coach Hammy could find. I am embarassed at what I saw from a coaching standpoint tonight.

GO VOLS!!

Saban didn't inherit half the mess Dooley did.
