Too funny. We’ve had two really good ones the last couple of years in Sampson and Wright who weren’t 5 stars. I’m not concerned with the RBs. Hueps teams have always shown they can run the ball.

I think I know what he means. He's saying that we are 2 weeks out from the first game and there has been no "news" of any of the 3 "breaking out" (that I'm aware). CJH is pretty good with getting RBs carries/yards - so if he has to work with a committee I'm sure he knows what to do. Nevertheless, not having a "break out" RB at this point could be a signal of the strength of our running game come Sept-Nov. With all that said, yes, much depends on the OL. Tony Thompson was the 3rd string RB but racked up much yardage behind the "TVA" OL of the late 80s.

That saying only applies to QB's. The RB committee has worked for us for 4 straight seasons. Small, Wright, & Sampson were a pretty good trio. Wright & Sampson in particular had time to grow into upper-tier backs.

Wrong. We have more talent at RB on this team than thy did last year. The depth is as strong as I have seen it in a long time. I take this RB group over any ai have seen here in the last 8-10 years. I f one goes down, we not 3 more champing at the bit.

So long as they stay healthy I think that Lewis, Bishop and Thomas will be a great three headed monster in the backfield. We will be a heavy run team again this year. You can't expect one star RB to take 40 carries per game. Keep the legs fresh and run it down their throats.
