When you arrived at VN?

Just joined last month .... was doing a Google search to catch up on status of the Vols and saw the link to VN. Have been a Vol fan all my life. Daddy went there in 1955 and Majors (Johnny) was his ROTC commander. Granddad played football there in the days of leather helmets.
Didn't follow the Vols much in the waining years of the Fulmer era as I was getting disgusted but started back watching some last year when Kiffin took over. Never quite bought into Kiffin and was wary. I think Dooley is a great fit and I'm getting excited about the future of Vol football again.

years ago I joined when I lived in California. UT was about to play Fresno State. I was worried UT would take them lightly. Not many UT fans out there, but some. I think i was WestcoastVol back in those days.

I joined the months Kiffin got hired because I was trying to get more info on future hires after Fulmer. I began following recruiting like never before because he was having to close out the class and finish strong and through out his tenure. Endured many good moments (as well as bad) on here in the past year or two. Glad to have Dooley...

My story's very similar to this. Grew up a Vols fan, and through college (Manning Era) stayed extremely on top of everything, which my boss (a Vol fan) liked, getting me out of work at times!

Got really disgruntled with Fulmer after '05 and drank the Kiffen Kool-aid, just wanting change. Funny thing was my dad called him out as a douche bag from day 1 and said we'd regret getting him. Man, was he right.

So, with hiring of Dooley I wanted to be more judicous with my opinions so I started checking the news and started at GVX. Same as Vol Ball, the constant trolling (a lot by the KNS staff BTW) got tiring and I started 'lurking' over here around August and started noticing how much more newsworthy these forums were.

BTW, mentioned being judicious before. Even at 2-6, I like where Dooley's got us going. I think some folks haven't understood the difficulty in this job right now. I like his blunt honesty, and the fact that no matter how bad we were, he never made excuses. I think this guy's a winner and will get us back to the top. The way the chips are falling in the SEC East right now I think that may be sooner than later!

Sorry for writing a short novel, but I thought this was a cool thread topic. Enjoyed reading everyone's posts and GBO!!! Let's kick them Heels!!

Checked out the site when Cut was leaving and finally joined to find out more info. about Fulmer leaving.....oh the good ol' days.

I've been looking at VN since the 2007 football season ,but I never officially joined to post until January 2010 during the Kiffin fiasco. I don't know why ,but I always posted on the UT forum on ESPN.com. I hated that I never decided to post here until a year ago.

Would someone tell me my join date? I don't remember how I learned of VN, but I've been hooked ever since (that day).

Thanks JTrain. (Also to whoever corrected my double-post. That's my first in a while, and it still tops Bruce(ilove u BP)...) Now the question becomes whether it was 11/1/09 (positive joining experience) or 11/15/09 ?(nightmare'ish)

Yes it was. Thought we could still pull out a title run at that point. Spring of '05 I talked more shiz in school about Vols football than I ever had or will.

FTR, I joined on my birthday while in the library when I should have been studying for finals. We were fresh off signing the '07 class that I knew would bring us back to glory.

Learned of VN from a friend in College in '08, joined up & have been posting ever since. Been through alot of stuff over the past 2 years. I stay in the recruiting forum mostly.

When Myspace was hot Volnation sent me a friend request in August 07. I visited the site and Cal Bear fans were talking smack all summer and KsushalovesVols was talking about how Justin Gatlin's good name would be cleared.

I too, found this site after being on the ESPN board. I joined under another account around the time Kiffin was hired because I needed some info on the coaching search.

I found the site while following recruiting and mostly read the recruiting forum for months before checking out the main board.

HVWarrior was the guy who got me hooked on VN--with tons of insights on that year's incoming class. :hi:
