Fresno St. Week is Finally Here!
August 26, 2003
The pre-season hype is finally over. No more scrimmages. No more talk. It's time to take the field. Right now players and fans alike can envision their team winning a conference title or even a National Championship. The dream of what could be is at its peak. Could this be the year? Could this be one of those "special" teams?
Before the season begins we analyze the players, the coaches, the incoming freshman, and about everything else you could imagine. In the last couple of weeks we have covered it all: Will we have enough depth at Defensive line with the injuries to Justin Harrell and JT Mapu? Will Mondre Dickerson come to play after not performing well in practice? Who is Matt McGlothin (the walk-on d-lineman)? Which of the Freshman receivers will step up and contribute, especially after the season ending injury to Robert Meachem? How will James Banks do and will he play WR or QB? Who will play corner opposite Jabari Greer...Brandon Johnson, Antwan Stewart, or Jason Allen? Who will backup Cedric Houston at Tailback ...Gerald Riggs, or Jabari Davis? Will Kevin Burnett be healthy enough to play? We have covered just about all of these topics in our Message Forum. Now we get to see how it plays out. It's now officially "Football Time in Tennessee".
