when will this nightmare end?

Nobody knows unfortunately. I've been pessimistic with everything from the day we hired Kiffin.

In year 3, I started to believe I was wrong about Butch.

Too early to tell on Pruitt, but I see some of the same stubborn tendencies I saw in Butch. Maybe he'll be different and he'll adapt.

Honestly,Pruitt looks worse than Butch at this point.

Each fall I convince myself that we will be competitive . Then the bottom falls out and the misery begins anew. It is safe to say that if someone (AD) wanted to destroy the once-heralded football program they couldnt have done a better job. The parade of third rate coaches beginning with Dooley and Jones was destined to fail. Beginning with the morally bankrupt ,narcissistic Kiffin and moving on to the reality-challenged Butch Jones - one would need to look under rocks to find to find a worse group of misfits. The cherry on top of this Shite Sundae was the cartoonish search ending with Pruitt. That was ineptitude of a staggering level and made us the laughing stock of the college fb world. That bit of black comedy will likely never be seen again. We are fast approaching a death-spiral . Low fan interest-small crowds-worse recruits- worse football, rinse and repeat. Maybe Pruitt can stop this slide to oblivion, but the results so far are a mixed bag. Being a Vol fan is painful experience . If other schools can revive moribund programs , it must be possible. Why are we drowning in this quicksand of stupidity? The more we struggle the deeper we sink. It is a puzzler.
turn yur tv and radio off. And you can't judge Pruitt yet. At least him and the staff have SEC experience.

It might help if JG was pulled and C put in. Helton is not a SEC OC so far. My first UT game was 59'. This falls on Pruitt to do something about this mess. So far he has not shown me that he has done anything to correct this.

My guess is never. With very rare expections in the 1950s and 1990s, Tennessee’s football program is an average to now well below average program. Nothing is gonna change anytime soon, if ever.

The nightmare ends one of four ways: (1) You wake up. (2) You quit watching U T football (3) The 2nd coming of Christ or (4) When we start playing better and being coached better and win

Take your pick

Here is how I perceive this went down. When Fulmer was hired as AD and proceeded to hire Pruitt,The #1 statement that was made. Not a question!Tennessee will return to dominance again by running it down your throat! Phil knew exactly where to go to get the coach to implement the plan desired. Alabama! Make no mistake, When they’re offensive line fires off the ball its 3yds before the back even hits the hole! Take into consideration they’re backs are never under 230lbs! (In time Jeremy Banks) will be that back for us. I think London could be included too. We are undersized on the line.. Tennessee has 1 maybe 2 lineman that I in best judgement that can play run football! Trey Smith possibly Jerome Carvin.

London is a red shirt senior so he will,be long gone before the O Lines issues gets straightened out

When we hire a real coach again, not the training wheels coaches who we have to make excuses for and give 5 years to be competent. The three special teams flags have been great, no offense, missed assignments continuously, terrible penalties, etc. have all been signs of a poorly coached team.

Georgia is using this as a practice game. They are working on their running game. Doing most anything they wish..

Hopefully they will go each on us the second half.

Just don’t let it bug you man. We aren’t any good right now. Just deal with it for now.

I like our coach and we have punched the panic button for the last 15 years. We must give him time.

YEARS NOT WEEKS

My crystal ball says Kentucky is when this starts to turn around. But really, Kiffin screwed us setting us in to a spiral. Then, the Dooley hire was laughable. Jones? He was looking good with strong recruiting and an upward trajectory in wins against some tough competition. But, it became obvious he got lucky with some great players. His coaching, or lack there of, caught up to him. And yes, underlying all this is awful administrations. Thanks, Hamilton.

Now, I know we're once again in a 3 to 4 year rebuild. If this doesn't work, it will have been almost 15 years since we were relevant. So painful.

It started when we were losing recruiting battles in the early 2000's. Frank Gore, Cadillac Williams etc etc. Then Cutcliffe left. Then Fulmer fired Sanders and did not fond a capable replacement. Fulmer was fired and when he left, he recruiting class left also. Kiffin came in and had to scramble to get a roster together, then he ran of B K Coleman and others and he started freshmen. Then Kiffin left. No one was interested so we hired the last man standing. Dooley failed so we hired the last man standing. Along the way, we went thru 187 athletic directors. And had no stability
