When will the coaching staff be final? With all of the hiring and firings and non-playoff bound teams, shouldn't the pieces of the puzzle start falling into place soon? :popcorn:

Just a guess, but probably within the next week or two with most of the NFL teams done, many coaches fired and the coaching convention coming up in the near future.

Read the other threads, the pieces are falling in place. Some pieces are slipping through the cracks as well. The staff should be set by next week.

Longer than Lane would like. I think he felt it would be done by now.
The end of the week after the NFL season was over.

There are just too many variables for this to be done too quickly.

Plus you want to do it in a way where the coach you're bringing in doesn't have to burn bridges to get here.

If their season is over, how are they burning bridges?
It seems like the common courtesy is that you let their season play out and then talk. You may not have signed papers at the end of the week, but you will know who to mark off the list.

Some may be still in the playoffs.

Also, some of the "conversations" have possibly just started this week. Keep in mind, they have had their minds elsewhere than UT.

And a lot of these decisions will involve uprooting families....

Give the the guy some time! He has only been the coach a couple of weeks and some of you guys expect him to have a full staff hired, a top recruiting class in place, and a top ten preseason ranking!
Jeez, Dang, Man, Jeez Louise.....etc.

I know that in his interviews he has been saying that the first or second week of January was his target. I was just wondering if we all thought that was possible with everything else that has transpired?
