When was the last time we've had an offense this bad?

I can't remember one. Fulmer's offenses were hard to watch down the stretch but this seems like it might be even worse.

We are probably about to lose 6 in a row by double digits. Maybe never?

The 1909 offense was pretty bad, though I doubt you would remember. Shut out in every game but the last. In that last game, we managed to put 11 points on the board and got the only win of the season... against Transylvania.

How does UT consistently whiff on QB’s?
Dobbs was decent, but that’s about it,
You would think the Vols would be able to find a decent QB, but so far the QB position has Pruitt dazed and confused!

2005 was bad....IIRC our defense was top 12 in the nation that year. We never seem to be able to put 2 good sides together at the same time. Like Dooley's last season we averaged around 34 points per game and couldn't stop a NAIA team on defense.

I think it's linked to Pruitt's obsession with ball security. Obviously you don't want your QB to throw interceptions but you also don't want them to be timid... there's a fine line there that I don't know how to walk, but the great coaches do. What really surprises me is that all of our guys seem to lock on to one receiver... you never see them go through a progresssion and throw to the 3rd/4th guy.

We used up all of our QB capital with Peyton.

Pruitt lives by the old adage..."Three things can happen when you throw the ball, and two of them are bad." With JG behind center he is 100% correct.
