in the same year?

then again possibly two different #1's if voters see the Bama win as more impressive

I do not remeber ever playing a number 1 and a #2 in the samw year and I don't think we have ever played two teams both ranked #1 at the time we played them... I hope that works out

Just a wild guess. But FSU was clearly #2 when we played them in '98. Could UF have been #1 when we beat them.

Georgia and Southern Cal in '81 were probably in that range. Alabama and Pitt in '80 were probably close. Georgia and SC in '80 finished the season at or near the top.

Yeah, how some strength of schedule props from the BCS!!:rock:
Ask Penn State, Ohio State, Mich, Texas, OSU and ND if they want to trade schedules and play in the SEC!! Me don't think soooooo!

In '90 I think we played 2 teams that were ranked #1 during the year, but one wasn't when we played them... Colorado. The other was Notre dame.

AP Poll December 10, 1985

1 Penn State (45) 11-0 1,086
2 Miami (FL) (2) 10-1 1,001
3 Oklahoma (5) 10-1 978
4 Iowa (2) 10-1 973
8 Tennessee 8-1-2 690

I'll never forget the 85 Sugar Bowl interview of Jimmy Johnson before the game saying "Miami should be ranked no.1 (after we beat TN)". Ha Ha we kicked there butts!:rock::rock:
