Patience is a virtue that some posters lack. Leadership is everything when young players are learning to compete at the next level and this team has very little leadeship on the field. Lathers would have made a huge difference there for this defense.

+1. Too, the challenge presented by the lack of in-state talent. The Tennessee HC position is considered by many a "prestige" job, high profile HC's admire and respect the dedication and loyalty of the Vol faithful (from fan support to "State of the Art" facilities) but each is aware that recruiting is your lifeline. Tennessee, surrounded by talent-rich states/competition, (excuse the metaphor) is (almost) like a "dry" county.

Curious, what leads anybody to believe we can beat Vandy Saturday ? Brays last performance against Georgia got us 6 points at home in 3-3/4 quarters. Vandy(with less talent as I have read here) has played two common opponents off their feet and albiet they lost, their effort in those loses was 10 times better than the effort we put out in any game.

This is the worst Tenn team since Majors last year. I get some of the "cupboard was bare" b.s...but folks, we were at least COMPETITIVE last year!
We almost beat bama the year before...

There's major stuff wrong in Knoxvile. Way worse than we could've dreamed a year ago. When Vandy, who recruits nobodys, smacks us, who will stand behind Dooley? Take a side now, so we can revisit this in a year.

You are right about 1 thing, he does not have what it takes when it comes to senior leadership and quality starters to win. I know when you have more sophmores then juniors and seniors combined it's tough in this league.

Out of the 16 seniors on this team, how many start?
Out of the 18 juniors on this team, how many start?
Out of the 35 sophmores on this team, how many start?
Out of the 49 freshmen on this team, how many start?

Those numbers include walk on and redshirts for each class as well as Malik Jackson who is a senior and was a Dooley deal.

Since you have all the answers, break the roster down and tell us how he has not proven anything?

Dooley deserves one more year. I don't think there is any way to gauge him on a two year run with what he inherited.

As much as I even hate to think it.....I am afraid this is Vanderbilt's year.
