Really disappointed in young Chubb as a player. While his team was battling, he wears a C on his jersey as captain, he sat alone the second half sulking it appeared. Should have been firing his guys up on his crutches, told me a lot about what's up in Athens.

Georgia's had their share of breaks go their way in Neyland too:
1). Bill battle goes brain dead and fakes a punt from his own 31 with something like 3 minutes to go to give a Georgia team who couldn't pass gas an easy track to the winning TD
2) Glenn Ford fumbles on first and goal at the one with 2 minutes left giving Ga a 16-15 win over tennessee in their NC season
3) tennessee flubs the pooch ok giving Ga great field position to start the drive to win in 2001
4) Tennesee fumbles handoff on 1 yd line and ga returns 99 yds right before half. Instead of leading 14-13 at half, tennessee trails 19-7. Wheels come off 2nd half.
5) first and goal yesterday at 1, tennessee fumbles and go returns for a TD.
Lest anyone thinks the Vols were 'lucky' to win, or the Dawgs 'choked' the game away, let's be clear on one thing.......without a fluke Hurd fumble at the goal line and subsequent 96 yard return for TD by UGA, and if the referee hadn't incorrectly waved off the penalty on the punt return for touchdown, that game would not have even been close (take away 14 points from UGA and add 7 points to UT and see what the score is then). Bottom line......the Vols dominated that game offensively and defensively, and deserved the win.
Just a couple of things to note:
They lost their leader and best offensive player. We were down our leader and best defensive player (Maggit).
Sony had 145. If Chubb is in the game Sony doesn't rush for 145, Chubb likely does. Running the ball wasn't a problem for them tonight.
Our offense put up 38 points on them, as much as Bama did, Chubb going down didn't have anything to do with that.
....... we're the better team. Plain and simple.
For all of us Vols that live in the state of Georgia:
Thank you to........in particular to these guys.
Josh Dobbs for setting the tone on that 99 yard play.
Trevor Daniel for that incredible wedge shot.
Josh Smith for the score that brought us back.
Jalen Hurd for those extra yards.
Alvin Kamara for those two td catches.
Brian Randolph for the final play.
Every Vol fan that lost their voice.
Living in Georgia for the next 363 days will be so much better thanks to all of you!!! :hi:
