When Spurrier brags about Vols qb that’s a mouth full.

I was at that game with a couple of buddies. When Ainge looked to the sideline and cocked his arm we saw the defensive back already coming up. As the ball left his had we were yelling, "no".
I think you may have SEC champ games mixed up. Ainge was 6 years later when the grass chewer was LSU’s coach

When Spurrier brags it can also go to our heads. Never forget after we beat Florida in 2001 in the game moved to the end of the season because of 9/11, he came out after the game and said " Tennessee is going to win the SEC". The next week we then lost the SEC Championship to LSU despite being the favorite. Tennessee was 10-1 and LSU was 8-3 going into the game.
I was at that game and still bear the scars. :^(

Thought it was “thoroughly dangerous man”?.. no?
“He let out a yell that'd curl your hair
But before he could move I grabbed me a chair
And said watch him folks 'cause he's a thouroughly dangerous man”
- google ai

You are correct. Pretty sure that is not the first nor the last time, i have been corrected on those lyrics. 😉

And we had already beaten them in Neyland earlier in the year. We knocked out their starting QB and RB and damn I'm pissed once again.

I don't think I will ever get over that game. 20 years of heartache and hell started that night in Atlanta
Yep, and in the SECC game Saban went for it on 4th down at his own 30 and we stuffed them. He said after the game his wife Miss Terry said that was the dumbest move he ever made as a coach. Saban said they were just so much better I felt we had to take chances. Rohan Davey getting hurt kind of killed us we game planned for him and where stopping them he goes out hurt and Mauk comes in and the backup gets MVP just a Vol thing. :(

I'm still pissed about that game.

Ole HBC. I always take what he says with a grain of salt. That being said, we certainly did win the Nico trade. But I bet even that ole Gator is pulling for Georgia.
