Jumper not a bad run stuffer on inside runs. Should be good on the fullback dives which is the first option on Ga Tech's offense.

If he only has 11 tackles against a 98% running team then we are IN TROUBLE, he needs to have 15+...... MLBs are the key to stopping the option

People who criticize walk on's who have earned a scholarship, especially for the team they say they are a fan Of, are probably the biggest underachievers in their life as they come!

Some people will never give Jumper a fair shot. They just won't. I don't know why somebody will be that adamantly against him, but it will happen regardless of how he performs.

I'll admit I've never been the biggest advocate for Jumper starting at MLB. But to his credit, he did improve tremendously over the course of last year. So hopefully he has improved even more in the offseason. One thing I do like about him is that there's no doubt that he's giving 110 percent while he's on the field.

It's probably because you only have 9 posts.
If you post more your support would be more evident

game with 11 tackles and 2 for a loss, I hope we can stop the player bashing on him and an our other players.

The fact that Jumper is in the conversation to start means he is a good LB who beat out 2 future All SEC players, by all accounts (Bituli and Ignont), for the role.

From what I have seen in videos with the coaches, THE LAST REASON they would ever give for defensive struggles last year is Colton Jumper. SO... what do you guys know that they don't? Which of you is watching more game tape?

Look. We all want an AJ Johnson, side-line to side-line alpha-male in the MLB spot (Jumper is not this guy), but lets consider it a blessing that we have some depth to allow DKJr to get better and for Bituli and Ignont to develop into the next AJ.

I will be worried if the coach says on Monday "we are really going to need some one to step up/grow up/etc..." this is something you hear a lot from coaches. But what you are going to hear after this one is "We have 2 good options with Jumper and Bituli that we are very comfortable with. And Ignont is starting to come along as well."

Go Vols. Beat Tech.

38-16
No we all don't want guys like AJ I'm too slow to be an SEC LB Johnson. Some of us want guys like Al Wilson.

Jumper played good at times last year, but he was also burned and ran through at crucial times as well.

It is what it is though, hope he steps up if given the nod.

As I agree with this, but all 11 on the defensive side got done this way as well at times.

If the coaches, whose careers are on the line, think Jumper is the best available player to start, I support them and him 100%. Everyone else's opinion really doesn't count. If opposing fans put a player down, it is locker room motivation. When your own fans criticize you, that is like shooting yourself in the foot or helping our opponents. Colton Jumper is a UT Vol For Life and I'm glad we have him in the lineup. Ditto all the other players suiting up against Georgia Tech. My opinion.

True. The reason some people will be that adamantly against him is that Tennessee has many thousands of fans, consisting of all kinds of people. Some of them are the meanest stupid people in the world.
