When is Oregon arriving in Knoxville?

They'll be doing a walk through on the field friday night. Considering the time difference, and the late start on saturday, i hardly think the late arrival will affect their performance.

Met a couple of Oregon fans when I stopped over in PHX yesterday. They approached me and asked about Neyland, etc. They were very nice and looking forward to all the great things they have heard about Knoxville

I find it funny that Vol fans want bad things to happen to the Ducks on their way to Tennessee. I guess that's the south for you.

Go Ducks!

Just don't do what the Cal fans did, and boo the pregame prayer. That was probably the most classless thing I've ever seen from visitors to Neyland.

I don't think any of us like seeing our program in the state to where we hope things like humidity, rain, & travel delays help us out. We would much rather have it the way it was a few years ago when we only worry about Florida coming to town... everyone else was an expected victory.

Anyone coming from the Pac-10 used to be a guaranteed victory but Cal and UCLA the last couple of years have us on egg shells now. Heck, we aren't stupid. You have depth, experience and speed. We have no depth and some experience and speed... we will take whatever edge we can get.

It is what it is and more than anything, we want to win. I don't care if it is 72 degrees with clear skies as long as we win. On top of that, I hope our fans stay classy and all the Oregon fans enjoy everything about Knoxville except for the final score. :good!:

Are you coming into town for a game this year? Let me know. I usually go to 1 game a year with some people you know...

Cal fans are a bunch of pinko-commy-liberals that live in a world full of unicorns and world peace.

Oregon is pretty libertarian, especially when it comes to state politics. You'll find that most people here are anti-tax, distrust government, love the outdoors, and couldn't care less about issues like gay marriage and the legality of marijuana. People live and move here to be left alone. Most of the northwest is like that...unfortunately, all people out East see is the limp-wristed idealist wackos that make the news for protesting something or "raising awareness". You go anywhere outside of Portland or Eugene, and you'll find just as many rednecks as you will in Tennessee (minus the accents of course)

I can't believe that happened! Truly classless! Hopefully our fans coming out to Knoxville will behave. I'm sure they will, the knuckle-heads usually stay home!

Here's to a fair game, and no injuries!:good!:

wtf? did that really happen?

I've been watching Knoxville media of late. And while I ain't one of those silly Berkley, Post-Modernist Neo-Marxists (Zeus forbid), it's pretty darn weird to see local news casts invite local pastors on for 8 minute "news" segments about Jesus. Feels a bit podunk to me. Culture shock, for sure, were I to move there. But I live in Portland, where not everyone is necessarily a Yahweh-worshiper.

Are non-theists allowed on the football team? If so, do you make them pray?

We have our own "accent," as does every speaker of every language. In Michigan, for instance, "cot" and "caught" are pronounced differently. In Oregon, they are pronounced the same way. We've a west coast vowel merger here, and lots of our women (and some men) end their sentences with high-rising-terminal intonation, such that declaratives sound like questions.

Like, I went to the mall? (uh, did you?)

Political spectrum in Oregon, compared to some parts of the country, gets along OK. Fancy Portland liberal people with tattoos and electric cars, if they've any sense, can get along in eastern Oregon redneck bars just fine. The Left and Right here are both inclined to tell both big corps and big gov to piss off. Left by numbers here, but the Left here has a libertarian streak, with a small "l."

BIG MISTAKE on their part. That's a LONG way to travel in the air and then have legs the next day. GBO!

I don't get it. What is their coach thinking?
I'm not sure he understands the importance of getting here a couple days early to get somewhat acclimated to the climate, field, etc. Maybe he thinks this is a joke game. Well...we'll see.::cool2:pepper:
GO VOLS!

I see about 20 Oregon fans waiting at the gate in the Atlanta airport to go to Knoxville. On another note I saw a Florida fan proudly wearing his jorts in LAX earlier.

What channel did you see that on? I don't ever remember Knoxville having local news segments about Jesus on their news casts. If they did, they were probably just referring to Rod Wilks and it was a slip up on their part.

In general Tenneseeans are decent folks. However, I have learned on this board we do have some people who are, well let's just say I'd rather avoid another immature name-calling session and that you get my drift. It isn't just the bad-wishes to Ducks, but a whole lot more that tell you the underlying nature of some folks here. But be cool, I stubbornly believe most posters here are actual humane human beings. I'm sure you will see this is true too.
