Flying in early Saturday morning with my wife.

Since I live in Atlanta, If I might be so presumptuous to make an entertainment suggestion.
If your wife likes shopping, Phipps Plaza has great stores.
You could drop her off there and then head to the Cheetah.
It features very good adult beverages, juicy steaks, and some sweet young college coeds working their way thru community college and cosmetology school.
*Do make a bank run first for a bunch of $1 dollar bills.

Would invite you to my house for my pre game party.
But, have no idea if you are a serial killer. :eek:hmy:
And, of course, you don't know if I am either. :p

I feel badly that I may have prejudged you, Coax.
Do you have a nurturing type disposition?
Any experience caring for the elderly?
You ok with giving a gentle, yet firm, full body massage and then helping me into the tub for my nightly bubble bath?
Are you handy with a loofah?
After you dry me off and put on my depends, you will read me a nice bedtime story about gladiators.
Sound fun?

I have a pretty huge problem guys and gals. I am flying to East Africa on Gameday. I've never missed a opener since I've been a fan.

I leave Charlotte at 6 PM. I'll be two hours into the first leg of my trip when we kickoff.

Fortunately for me, I can buy wifi on the plane.

So I'm going to follow the game through text messages from my buddies and the game thread here.

So be nice and try not to melt down too much in the game thread....:D

Volspeach.....you're in Woodstock? I am off Hwy 92 and Sandy Plains. We're practically neighbors! :good!:

I used to live there too until I sat in one traffic jam too many and decided to head back to the hills! Been in Murvul 20 years now and have missed ATL exactly zero seconds since leaving! I'm coming down Monday morning & riding MARTA from the west. GO VOLS!!

Go early and spend a couple of hours at the College Football Hall of Fame. You can park next to it and then walk to the stadium.

My daughters go to GT so I'm going down early Monday to harass and embarrass them in front of all of their Tech friends. I'll be wearing my checkerboard overalls; they'll never live down the shame.

It'd take about a 10 OT game to cause a problem if it kicks off at 8:00. You'll be on a train by midnight or shortly after.

Man I hope you're right. Our game with A&M is on YouTube with over an hour of commercials removed and the runtime is still 3:45. Injuries played a big part in that double OT game running long and this game has a big injury risk. GA Tech's heavy run offense is a clock killer so hopefully we'll be out by 11:30

Getting into Atlanta on Saturday to hang out with other UT grads for a couple days before the game. Maybe make fun of some Bama fans that night

Will be arriving Sunday morning and staying in the Centennial Olympic Park area for a few days. Looking forward to the kickoff of our 2017-18 season. Could be a special one with some new talent making the VOL faithful foam at the mouth.

Driving down Monday morning. I'm trying to decide where to stay. I have reservations for the Hilton Atlanta downtown and Hampton Inn & Suites downtown. Does anyone with knowledge of Atlanta think one will be better than the other? I know the Hilton is little further away and I'm fine with walking, I just want to be sure after the game that it's a safe walk, etc.
