If both Pearl and Hammie go, then CDD gets extra slack as long as 'progress' is being made...more then he might normally get. In our current state of affairs, CDD is the rock in the major men's programs....:banghead2:

I like CDD to this point, just need more wins.

I wish they would make the decision to fire Hamilton soon. Even ESPN said after the game that Hamilton should go.

There are probably many sundry reasons why Hamilton should be fired--Because ESPN says so ain't one of them. :hi:

There are a lot of decisions that have to be passed up the ladder @ UT. Too much clout and cash above MH.

That being said, I think MH is a lameduck AD. I love the cash he has brought in. Tommy Bowl is a top arena in b-ball. Neyland is back at the top of the most beautiful stadiums now with the recent (and ongoing) renovations.

But I think there are tons of ADs that can bring in money. And after his interview with hyams the other day, I think MH has lost his friggin' mind. Support a coach in turmoil all season and bails on him 2 days before his opening round of the tournament. Pathetic!

If Hammy gets swept out the door with Pearl, Dools will be the only guy in town with approval of the big money hierarchy. With his political savvy and legal background he will get an extended honeymoon to produce results on the field.

The problem is if you give coaches a free pass and they take it then your BIG trouble. Just look at Mark Richt, he took the free pass this year now look at the program.

the decision making has been off but no big name coaches wanted to coach at ut kiffen was a bust and not to many top teir teams whouldn,t have hired dooley ,but little did anyone expect dooley to have the integrety he has shown nor expected him to pull in two top 15 classes and year two will be better than most think and year three expect 10 plus wins.

I definitely expected the integrity. If he fails at everything else, he will always have that attributed to his legacy here. Agreed on his improvements though.

I don't understand how one says 'If so and so happens, I'm done with Tennessee.' That's not a true orange blooded fan. You're never 'done' with Tennessee. It's more than just a team you root for. It's a way of life.

"Promote" CDD to AD and then go after Jon Gruden to be the new football coach. I know he'll probably never leave Tampa, but I hear he has land in Sevier County and his wife was a UT cheerleader. If he turns us down go after Sylvester Croom.

I know this is a total impossibility.... But is there any chance in the world Heath Shuler would ever consider the AD job? He's a VFL, knows the program really well, has ties with Washington (which is always a plus), and he sits on the budget committee in the House of Reps. His election alone proves he can raise funds. He is also involved heavily in real estate, so I'm assuming he would have contacts for construction of new/upgraded facilities. I'm sure I'll be scolded for this post, but I think Shuler would be one heck of an AD.

Why don't they fire Hamilton he has done nothing but make bad decisions since being here !And he wants to fire Pearl for making some wrong decisions ? His ass should have been gone years ago !

Both Pearl and Hamilton needs pink slips! To be devil's advocate, Pearl can stay and hamilton can be fired. But, do you think Ohio St. Would fire Tressell? Same as Pearl? Dez Bryant lied to the NCAA and got the rest of his season pulled. Cam said he didn't know what his FATHER was doing and is immune to the NCAA's wrath? Dooley should be AD and Head Coach like he was at La. Tech! Bet we get progress then!

Pearl lied and is getting the NCAA hammer brought down. He deserves to go

What wrong decisions has Hamilton made? List them
