I was four years old and my dad took me to a UT football game. Most amazing thing i had ever seen and i have been in love with UT ever since. Anyone else got a good "how i became a fan" story?

I didn't actually become completely engrossed until the Florida game this year. I know we got drilled, but when Eric Berry pick-sixed Tebow, well...there just wasn't anything better than standing on the bleachers and singing Rocky Top and chanting "GO BIG ORANGE!" as the Florida fans sat dejected.

Obviously, our elation was short lived, but it was the first away game I'd been to (except for the 2003 Peach Bowl).

I've always been a "fan," I guess. I can still remember some of the older games I went to. I still have a poster of Leonard Little in my room, because he was my favorite player when I was younger. But I only went to games once or twice a year, and there for a while, I had a bad streak going. I went to the Florida game in 2000, the Peach Bowl in 2003, USC in 2005, LSU in 2006...it had been a while since I had seen Tennessee win in person.

But of all the places, it was rooting for Tennessee in the Swamp that forever cemented my fanhood. Surprising, really, when you consider how utterly badly we lost.

Me and my friend are both 16 and we were going to try to get tickets for the florida game and take a road trip. Cheapest i have found are 200 a piece. I want to go to this game more than anything in the world though, so i would pay, but i would like to find them cheaper. You are lucky you get to go to so many games! :hmm:

I was born to be a Vol fan. When I was born, my parents had already bought UT attire for me to wear in the hospital :)

Born a Cat. Made a gradual transition before finally deciding to cross the line into Oz. The world has been in color ever since.

Moved to Knoxville from Idaho as a little kid when my mother remarried. My step dad is a big UT fan. One of the only things we have in common, and now we both have degrees from UT (he went back to school late).

May 1, 1987 but I really "got" it in 96 at the UT/Vandy game in Nashville. Pouring rain the entire time and I think we won 12-7.

Back in the early eighties while stationed in SoCal and starved for SEC (Vol) football.
But the comeback against Notre Dame in Nov. '91 sealed the deal.

I was born a VOL. I had no choice, thank God. Everyone in my family went to UT.
