He held a meeting with his players. He told them he was going to Tennessee.

And... the players clapped for him.

It confused me a bit. But i believe now that clapping was genuine and not just protocol.

They were relieved that he was leaving.

Yeah I'm sure they were ecstatic that they were going to lose a coach that gave them two back to back 10 win seasons and two bowl wins. They haven't won a bowl game since he left and are currently 4-8 and stuck with Tommy Tubberville smh. I bet their fans are jumping for joy that Butch is gone.

He's accomplished more than Butch ever will. 5 western division champs, Sec championship and screwed out of playing for a national title in in 2004 after going 13-0. He also went 85-40 while at Auburn. What has Butch done in SEC besides underachieve?

Those were over a decade ago in a very different conference. What has Tubbs done at cincy?

Can Butch recruit? He has 1 good year, then each year that has dropped. He's a salesman. That worked for a couple years, but the gig is up.
