I remember in August, Dooley was asked about our defense. He "hedged" a bit and said we wouldn't be a 3-4 only defense - sort of a combination depending. At that moment, I was slightly worried.
Then in the big games, I noticed we shifted alot into the 4-3. I realize defenses call different looks depending, but we seem to be shifting back into our comfort zone (4-3) too much for either defense to work consistently.
Bottom line - we are neither a 4-3 or 3-4 team, we're somewhere in the middle and that lack of identity (along with comfort, confidence, etc.) is killing us.
As Noah said, "Pound some nails or cut some trees". That's what we need to do, go 4-3 or go 3-4 - this in between stuff is killing us.
