Lotta Dool-Aid being drunk today. I like it. Vols 34-32. Course, I will probably put down the Dool-Aid for the official gift card thread.

The QB we faced yesterday is better than the one we will face this Saturday IMO. The UF defense will be much better than Cincy's tho. This game is very winnable, but presents a whole new set of challenges for UT.

The one thing I have a good feeling about against UF is the way our D is built. We have the traditional 4 man front meant to pin their ears back and get after a qb. This is the first offense we will trully be able to do that against this year. JMO

Smith and Jackson are a sweet pair of D-linemen. I wish we had two more that good to go with them. (Florida does)

I just don't see our defense being able to stop them, but we'll score some points along the way.

I'll say UF 45 - UT 31

I have watched most of the replay on Fox Sports South. UAB beat themselves with poor tackling and a lot of dropped balls. Rainey is dangerous in space. Trey Burton is a threat as a running back. Red zone execution is a weakness for the Gators.

I think the Gators have 4 drives for four field goals, and two touchdown scoring drives.

Vols win 38-26

Hopefully we can get a decent game from Martin if/when he gets back on the field

Won't pick the score, but will throw out some stat predictions:
Bray throws for over 300, but has 1 pick this time.
Brantley only throws in the low 200s with 2 picks.
UT running game is still weak, but they crack 150 total yds.
UF runs well and for over 200 yds.
Special teams favors UF with them having either a punt or kick return TD.
Close battle, but UT wins.

Tennessee 31
Gators 17

Vols get the ball on the 20 with 8:15 to go in the game. The offense slowly takes it down the field with runs, and short dump passes to get 1st downs. Bray takes a Knee inside the 5 yard line as the last seconds tick off the clock. :good!:

Other highlights:

Bray throws for 247 yards and 3 scores.
Poole and Lane combine for 172 yards rushing and a TD.
Palardy kicks a 39 yard FG.
Vols defense has 3 sacks and 2 INT's.

Gator front defensive 7 is better than Vols. After that the Vols have the edge or its a push with all the other units. IMO it breaks down like this.

QB - big edge UT
WR - big edge UT
RB - edge to Gators
TE - Push
OL - Push
Kickers - Gators
DL - Gators
LB - Gators
DB - Push

Gators could not get much pressure on UAB or FAU QBs so don't expect they will get to Bray much with 4 man rush. If they blitz it menas leaving Rogers of Hunter 1 on 1 on the corners. There is no one this side of the NFL that can play man coverage against these guys. The Vols will score enough points to win.

Don't think Brantly and Gator WR's will do much damage but their running game is another story. Vols have a chance if they can contain Demps and Rainy and by contain I mean they don't have alot of 20+ yard runs. If we can keep Gators behind the sticks and make Brantly beat us we have a really great chance to win. That is a very big if.

The wild card is special teams. Gators will win if they get a punt return of kick off return for a TD. Those kinds of plays in an intense game like this mean more than 7 points. Imagine UT has just scored to go up 17-14 and kicks off into a 102 yard return for TD. Its bigger than 21-14, its a major momentum play.

Everyone talks about can Bray handle a big game on the road. A bigger question may be what can Brantly do down 14 in the 4th quarter with the swamp quieter than a cemetary at midnight and the vols coming with their ears pinned back. I just hope we get to see that!

Demps is already dinged up. Rainey is 80% of the gators offense. If Brantley is pressured at all - he really sucks. Matter of fact he sucks without being pressured. The key to a big victory is our o-line. If our O-line holds up, Florida will look as bad as Cincy did in the 4th. Not worried about our defense since the gators are one dimensional on offense.
And for the final thought - since the pundits proudly proclaim that Bray hasn't played anybody yet, or beat a so-called "good SEC team" - next Saturday TB shuts the negateers up, does a lot of bye bye waves and the Vols cruise to 45-24 victory.

UT - 32
UF - 30

Team have areas of offensive strength that matches up evenly to their respective weaknesses. Strengths: UT-passing game, UF - running game Weakness: UT rushing defense and a marginal pass defense. UF passing defense with secondary even more marginal than UT's.

However, Bray and corps, which isn't limited to DR and JH will be effective when it counts the most. XFactor: Dooley may have given indications he will take chances. So he insert a few unorthodox or unexpected plays that catch UF off guard. I wouldn't be surprised to see some option efforts utilizing Lane and Neal or Lane and Poole, even ZR. expect the UF defense to come after Bray very hard, very hard.

look at the replay,,,UAB had a touchdown negated early in the second quarter on a very questionable "illegal shift" call against UAB. Matter of fact the flag came in after UAB started celebrating,,very late flag. UAB was running the ball and could have had an effective pass game if the receivers would have caught the damn ball. I think that Bray can have a bigger game against Florida than he did against Cincy - again - if our o-line holds up. To be honest, Floridas D-line is not very impressive.

Watching the UF/UAB game as I type this and the only thing that impresses me so far is the amount of flags that have been thrown.

Field position will be huge, and we need special teams to turn the corner. Darr has been a disappointment, and Palardy missed a 43-yard FG yesterday. He has to be able to make those. Hopefully, Da'Rick can get at least one great return. We need Poole and Lane to step up bigtime, and Neal needs to contribute. I think it will be too close for comfort-- maybe just a FG, so I hope Palardy brings it.

win, or loose. Here is my prediction:

Tennessee 23
Florida 21

I think turnovers will be the difference. The Vol backfield will pick off Brantley twice to end drives. Thoughts anyone??

I can appreciate your enthusiasm and I hope you are right with the prediction. If Brantley is throwing the ball into our backfield, we will most definitely win the game. Poole and Lane have some good hands.
