What's the point of playing Eric Berry 1 snap on offense?

I liked the notion of a screen, but did you really like the way they threw the ball to him while he was running backwards? By the time he turned around and ran forward, the play was pretty well over.

please....he returned 2 kickoffs and had 1 play on offense. the guy is use to playing both ways in high school, i'm sure he could handle 5 plays on offense

I think that's about the only throw you'll see for him unless they put a quick slant in for him.

the guys is a freak of nature, I doubt his stamina will bother him. but I would rather see him on punt returns than kick returns. seems like a punt return there more of a chance to make something happen and it's a momentum changer

I think what he was saying was that he'd rather see Berry run a slip screen (running towards the sideline) rather than a bubble screen (coming back towards the line)

With a quick slant, he'd at least be running in the right direction. Throwing it to him while he's running backwards and then asking him to abruptly reverse direction and THEN beat the defense is idiocy.

What's the difference really? Either way he'd be taking a step back and going parallel to the LOS.

I could maybe see the benefit of letting him run a swing route out of the backfield or maybe bringing him underneath for a shovel pass.

The simplest yet best way I've ever seen a guy like Berry used was back in 1990 when Lou Holtz lined up Rocket Ishmail on the left side of a T formation and ran a simple sweep to the right.

Since we were losing the TOP, Berry had to play on D most of the game...even Berry needs a breather

I'm not reading the whole thread, but I'm sure someone has pointed out that the "Locke" package doesn't work when everyone knows it's coming. Don't you dare say our coaches have more imagination to run that package.
