What's really puzzling is how can someone..

Same thing happened to Shula. There was a bigger turnout for him than Saban at their first preseason appearance in Birmingham.

I don't think anyone is worshipping DD. I'm pretty sure most everyone thinks he deserves some time. The cupboards were very bare when he took over and most rational fans realize this.

I can't agree with this. I've seen plenty of people basically worshipping the guy.

The jury is still out and will be for a while. I think those bashing him harshly are out of line because of what he inherited, but at the same time he's not above criticism and those claiming he'll definitely have us back to the top are doing no more than hoping.

There's a happy medium between "fire him" and "we'll be national champs in 2013".

Yeah I haven't really seen anything like this before... There's people saying we're soon-to-be NC contenders under Dooley right now, and praising him as a future great... And then there are those that want to look elsewhere and think he's in over his head. The opinions on him greatly differ in our fanbase. But I think everyone can agree, that there seems too be a little too much love for a coach that hasn't proven us anything yet. I personally will wait till he wins us a couple real SEC games before I join along in the worship.. Certainly wouldn't wear a 'fear the pants' shirt right about now... Haven't seen much too fear.

Dooley currently has sort of a "cult status" right now. Very Rod Wilks-ian.

I like him because he brings class to Tennesee, Recruits quality players not thugs, demands excellents from the team (players and coaches), and has the guts to call plays during the game to try and win not just keep it close.

I dont like losing anymore than the rest of you and had high hopes for this season but when you lose your top two offensive players what do you expect? Florida has talent all over their sidelines but you didn't see them lighting anyone up after Brantley went down did you? It is what it is and im still a VOL fan till the day I die. I just wish some of you would see the great things these freshmen and sophmores are doing, support this team and coachs, and look forward to a possible bowl game and strong finish to a already nice recruiting class. GBO

Amen couldn't have said it any better:rock:

Maybe because he opted to come here even though he knew the crap he was going to be playing with?????? Maybe because he followed that douche bag Kiffin???? Maybe because he believes in our traditions????? I agree it cant be because of the stellar coaching thats been going on, but I havent given up on him yet.

Mayby because LA TECH was thinking..."we need a new coach to get us motivated."
maybe he got out while the getting was good? just saying.
