Hi, this is my first post though I visit this forum regularly.

Just curious what everyone thinks will have to happen for MH to make a change. Personally, I think that 5 losses will cost Fulmer his job. Any less than that and I think he stays. But, make no mistake, I am firmly in the camp of those who want to see a change. I don't want a fall guy either. I want the whole staff replaced from Fulmer all the way down.

Anyone think it happens at 3 or 4 losses?

He'd have to lose at least 2 more home games with one of them being a blow out to force Hamilton's hand.

Only then...

However, the more I think about it, I do think CPF will resign at the end of the season.

Nothing less then five losses.

If we lose four games this year, that means we only lose one more game this entire season. If we're a three-loss team going into the bowl game everyone will think we straightened out, then after the bowl loss we'll have a whole offseason to calm down.

If we're a four loss team going into the bowl game, that means we win the bowl, everyone will start thinking we're on the right track or we're back we were just young.

Five losses is just different. That would mean either four sec losses or yet another bowl loss, along with a worse record then last year. Plus dont forget this is going to be a pr thing...we dont want to seem psycho for firing a three-loss or four-loss coach. But five losses and getting fired is acceptable...ask Florida.

I kinda have that feeling that Fulmer will step down at the end of the year. I know the man hates Alabama as bad as we all do and i think he lost his will yesterday. Did you guys see some of the looks the man had when the camera came around him? He's done.

I dont want UT to lose so that fulmer will be out... i think fulmer of the love for UT should automatically step down...

and i guess hardesty might have already started a stir by missing a practice session.. when you own players turn against you... you dont have an option

Agerrd. And on the radio show after the game Fulmer sounded like a beat down man.

I think I will be going down the road here in Memphis to see Fulmer in his last game at the helm.

I say again:
To do the same exact thing over and over the same way expecting different results is insanity.
That is all we have been doing the last 5 years.

If Hamilton hasn't seen enough, then he needs to be gone too. Nothing can be done to change the fact that fulmer is still going to be Fulmer. He is still going to run the same old offense. He is still going to field a team that can't tackle. He is still going to get a lead in the third and then sit on it and play not to lose. He is still going to consistently get outcoached by coaches with inferior talent. He is still going to clap and patt a guy on the rear when he screws up. He is still going to let his second best if not best back sit on the bench while a third or fourth string freshman tailback comes into the game on 3rd and 1 from midfield. He is still going to coach a team that continously makes other teams weaknesses their strengths. If Hamilton can't see that we need a change, then he himself needs to go. I've had enough and hope you have too. Regardless of how we finish, Fulmer has to go. And that includes winning out by an average of 50 points a game over our competitors andwinning a decent bowl game by 100 points. Wake up Hamilton, before it's too late.

I said after the 39 point loss to Florida that Fulmer had to win 2 out of the three vs. Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina. I still think that.

I think that if he loses to the biggest division rival, the biggest conference and historical rival and then the biggest coaching rival, that one of two things will happen. One, they will force him to clean house, he won't and they will force him out, or he will simply resign.

However, if Tennessee wins vs. South Carolina, and doesnt lose to Vandy or Kentucky, I think he could survive a loss to Arkansas.

The Bowl Game will be a huge game. IF Tennessee can somehow win out, including the bowl game, they will be in a good spot going into next season. If they lose to anyone but Arkansas AND the Bowl game, I think Phil's gone after that too.

If he is going to retire, I hope he does before the season is over. Perhaps the team would be motivated with the cloud of uncertainty removed. Then, they could send these guys out winners.

It would likely take one of those bunker-buster bombs and that's just a conservative guess. That is why it's best not to ever hire inbreds. You have to deal emotionally with what should be a business decision. It is just business, unless you have an inbred with historical ties. Of course, that did not bother Bama in dealing with Bambi.

He'll have to have a heart attack... Phil's going to be like Paterno, he's going to hang around until he dies.
