What's in the Senate health care bill?

They'll all be dead in the streets. We'll need crews dedicated to mass body cleanup.

He's saying that a system that could be fixed or at least could be made to work better for some should be allowed to fail so it works for none, the idea being that eventually the skies will open and henceforth there shall be a better way...

God knows what it will be.

I'm saying that if you don't fund it and deliberately ignore options to make it work just to try to manipulate things to an uncertain outcome two years from now, that the result is on you. And you better be prepared to live with the consequences.

The Republicans owned health care as of noon EST on January 20, 2017. What happens now is all on them.

I think what it shows is that it's extraordinarily hard to take things away once they've been given.

Armchair is partially right..about the nonsense. Republicans who were upset about the ACA ran their mouths for years about how terrible it was and how it had to be repealed or replaced..then the time comes where they are in total control and they have nothing but a wet bag of sh!t for legislation..OOPS. Should have prepared something instead of having your mouths and writing checks your party couldn't cash.

Also this was his plan all along and so he did exactly what he promised. Don't bother looking it up, it's true. It's so true it'll make your head spin.

I'm not covered by Obamacare or Medicaid and really don't give a crap about either one of them. What I do care about is retiring early and having to pay a couple of grand a month for health insurance, which is what the republicans want me to do.
The entire purpose of insurance is to spread the risk, which means people that don't use it pay in and people that do use it also pay in. Its called shared risk.
I paid the same thing for health insurance when I was young as I do now (except inflation). I didn't use it at all until I had kids, once they were grown I didn't use it again until I started to get old.
I don't don't think we need a sign wave payment method for healthcare, everyone pays and it stays the same throughout our life.

Trump now says he wants to just let Obamacare fail. Such leadership!

In his mind if he lets it just go away then he can't be blamed. We all know he's not getting very involved in healthcare so he can blame it on everyone but himself. I don't think he realizes that being president means his name is attached to everything the Republicans do...whether good or bad

What happens to your rural community hospital if Medicaid and Medicare go broke?

Under the current model and mindset, the same that would happen to many large hospitals. Close.

If it was pay as you go, would it be like car dealerships? Some would 'sell' themselves by lowering their prices tremendously, therefore making it by sheer volume. Some would try to survive by having higher prices and doing less volume.

That's actually how some small imaging clinics do it. Little overhead. Low low prices and in many cases, cash money.

I'd rather take $200 cash on the spot for that $700 CT, rather than fight for every dime you can get with insurance all while running up your cost from sending out multiple bills, paying staff to chase that money, with the end result a lot of times having to turn it over to a collection agency or have an attorney contact the debtor.

That's taking food right out of the mouths of the insurance companies. Have you no shame?

McConnell told our former CEO years ago that single payer was where this was all heading. All this grandstanding and BS from both sides has been the 3 ring circus for us all to enjoy.

Are you not entertained!?

Should have been that way from the start.

I've worked in it for 28 years and I want no part of it.

Ok so serious hypothetical:

We move to a single payor system. Those that work, our taxes increase dramatically. Should those that currently do not work and are able-bodied and able-minded and not at retirement age be required to work in order to pay something in for their healthcare like the rest of us do? Should new parameters be set for 'disability' recipients?

So Democrats realize the law they forced down our throats isn't going to work, which they themselves didn't even read before passing, are shocked that the republicans aren't jumping up and down to fix it for them?

Republicans are shocked that this law, which has been at the top of every stump speech for many election cycles, won't be repealed and replaced because the GOP is incapable of coming up with a better alternative.

F both groups. This is what WE deserve for continually electing the same ass hats into office. This is what WE deserve for pitting against each other the two worst candidates in history to be our President.

If it is a state run Medicare program, state taxes would front the bill with supplemental funding from the Feds. If it is a federally administered program (which I think is the way to go), Medicare taxes would increase but be offset with not paying private premiums. Low income workers still pay Medicare taxes.

What about able-bodied non-workers? What about all those 'disabled' souls that are more than capable to work (many do on the side for cash payment) but don't? Should there be a work mandate?
