I don't think it's the 'lower ranked' vs. 'superstar' personality conflict that's derailing the team. UConn, UCLA, SC and Texas are loaded top to bottom with superstars, and they aren't having any such issue. Even LSU has a roster full of divas, but KM has those egos in check.

The mistake is the types of players Kim picked up from the portal. Cooper was mercurial, Wolfenbarger was presented wrapped in a big red flag but was still recruited, and it was obvious from very early on her in her career that Barker was a handful. This was known from the get-go. Maybe the reason they ended up at Tennessee is less because that was THE destination instead of other coaches just knowing better what they'd be getting. You can't combine players with difficult personalities with a coach who can't get them to fall in line. Both sides are failing miserably at that and are equally at fault.

I also wonder if Pat was still coaching today, would these be players she would want on her team? Fans were raking Angel Reese over the coals for her "finger licking good" nonsensical theatrics a few years ago, but not a peep about Prawl and her gunshot gesture/technical foul in a closely contested game.. I also didn't realize this is the second time a player on the team made that gesture. She needed more of a chewing out than Kim gave her, even if she knew she messed up the moment she pulled that stunt.

The combo of Coop, wolf, and her parents, JB and the twins’s dad plus Kim’s inexperience always looked like a very combustible chemistry experiment to me.

Coach put the team together.
Team has quit on the coach.
Team has no shooters and runs a 3 point system.
Defense is atrocious, decent team turn it into a layup line.

Could things around this team be more of a sorry mess? I’m afraid we’re gonna find that out Thursday night. I just realized Thursday night is LSU’s senior night at the PMAC Good Lord.

I am seriously considering making other plans for Thursday night and Sunday afternoon because I am not sure I can watch either game. I missed most of yesterday's game because I kept manufacturing excuses to leave the room. I had already muted the sound, but that wasn't enough to help. Then I started avoiding looking up for more than a few seconds at a time. Eventually I ended up outside tinkering around with my old RV rather than watch, dipping back in the house only at the very end.

It's so stupid to be this way, I know, but it is what it is.

Of course it’s terrible. About half the fans here blame the coach and/or the system. Another half blame some or many of the players. The third half, the more nuanced and saner group, say there is enough blame to besmirch all of the above. And, of course, upholding a time honored tradition, a fair number are calling for the defenestration of AD DW. So, therefore, the arithmetic is clear, simple, and wrong, just as Mr. Mencken taught us to expect.

You seem unaware that quite a few of those losses have been to teams ranked well above our ladies. And some were games we should have won. And we would have won them except for some nefarious plot by the biased, incompetent announcers, or the refs, or the faulty optics of the arena, or a sinister spell cast by the AI in the sub-basement of the opponent's Alchemy department. And never forget Darth, lest the olde traditions fail.

It's a terrible state of affairs, and you should write to the Editor of your local tabloid, with copies to Mr. P. Fulmer and the ASPCA. Next, call a meeting of The Daughters of…(your choice. I'd pick the group with the best cookies and the record of the most indignant hollering.). Key words to include in protest press releases include…

I also failed to mention that my rule of thumb is that you only have two weeks to set culture with 18 to 24-year-olds after that, the culture is baked in, and you can't change it.

Most consistent scorer, pouter, turnover queen, and loafing back on defense. There were signs for Talaysia even going back to SC. She didn't even play much, but when she did, her body language was no better.

I do agree that she needs a stronger coach, but then again, there is also the high likelihood that she would just pout and the coach wouldn't be so desperate to put up with such behavior as Kim has thus far. She already played for Dawn, and it's clear that she sat most of the season for a reason.

Also, the fact that Talaysia is just clocking in for her paycheck doesn't make her any more admirable.

During yesterday's game, it was Prawl. Happened early in the 3rd quarter where she hit a three over Beers, then gave the gesture. As soon as she did so, she pulled her hand back and grabbed her finger. She knew she messed up and was hoping not to get caught, but the ref called the T. Chavez hit both FTs. That was a momentum killer since Tennesee score six quick points to open the half and were up 4. Chavez' FTs and Beers with a layup tied the game, and Tennessee never lead again after that.

Do you not think she could get a paycheck elsewhere. I don't think she totally hates it here may dislike some of the players she is playing with, but getting paid seems to be a far gone conclusion that would happen in about 100 different schools.

And honestly, last year they were still living off Kellies culture and her big positive culture players like Tess, Sara, Jewel, etc. Kellie came up short on a lot but one thing she did for sure was restore the culture, which was about where it is now when she inherited it from Holly.

Know who could be helping with culture right now? Kaiya Wynn, the end of an era of super high culture four year players. Sweet, funny, enthusiastic LVFL thru and thru.

But has anyone seen her? Is she on the back of a milk carton? Even if she’s injured, completely marginalizing her like she appears to be feels like a missed opportunity to me. I am so so sad for her that this is how it’s ending. I bet I shed a tear for her on senior day..

She obviously hasn’t regained her athleticism. When she played it wasn’t pretty.

I think NIL got some to do with it. They got their money and some do not care. Look at Kentucky men's team. They spent like 22 million and when they play you do not know which team will show up. Now on the Lady Vols i think the freshmen hustle and play harder then the older ones. When you lose close games. How many times do teams get easy lay ups on the Lady Vols press.
