whats going on with Robert Hubbs

He will probably average about 15 next year. McRae only averaged 1.8 his freshman year healthy.

I think 11 is a much more realistic scoring average expectation for him coming off an injury. I hope I'm wrong and he averages way more because that would most likely mean we are having a good season

Maybe. But I think him and J rich will both average around 13-15.

Hope this was sarcasm. How do you figure a guy with a bum shoulder is a bust? Now if things don't look better for him next year, you might begin to question but he played injured until he saw it was not getting better. I still think Hubbs can be really good. I just want to see him play healthy.

Was Greg oden a bust?

Hubbs could be a Jordan McRae type scorer once he accumulates some playing time.

JMO.

The thing with Hubbs is he can become a better player then McRae because Hubbs has potential to be a great defensive player.

he looked lost this season attempting to play defense.....

This. I'm going to be more impressed by his defensive development than his offensive development. His offense will come, but his defense was a real liability. He needs to shore that up badly. All the scoring in the world means nothing if your defensive assignment cancels you out by matching it.

McRae has/had the same potential on defense too. Actually, I'd argue he had more. He is quicker than RH and has an 86" wingspan that Hubbs doesn't have. Some people just aren't wired to be defenders. McRae is one of those.

He is quicker than RH .

I know there is no tangible way to support this opinion, but from my limited observations of RH, he was quicker than JM and was the best athlete on the team. JM has some unique traits (unusually long arms) but I've never viewed his as the quickest of all wing players.

I think Jordy's lanky build and length make him look less quick. He is more of a glider. Hubbs just never seemed to have that sudden movement to me. I thought he struggled to get the first step on his man offensively and instead, settled for too many jumpers. He was obviously blown by defensively on numerous occasions. Perhaps it was more mental indecision than a physical deficiency.

Admittedly, this all comes from a very small sample size, and as you said, there is no tangible measurement for it. Just my observation. I could be off too given the limited time we got to see him play.

As for best athlete on the team, Armani Moore is making a heck of a case, but I've seen Hubbs' athletic ability from high school film, and he is an athletic freak.

100% serious. Absolutely no sarcasm in my post whatsoever.

Wow. So 5* true freshman, with a bum shoulder, has to shut it down 12-13 games into the season to have surgery.... and you figure him for a bust? Just wow.

Also, how the hell are you taking shots at Stokes right now? He's a man among boys, playing out if his mind, arguably the best, strongest rebounder in the country.... will get votes for SEC POY. Jeez.

Cuonzo is terrible. Can't recruit... how in the world did Cuonzo not know that Hubbs would screw his shoulder up in his first year at Tennessee???

I agree, if anyone is more athletic than RH its Moore although I think he's a close second. I feel Moore's the lone returning upper classman with the potential to take a big leap forward if he can develop his basketball skills in the off season. If I were CCM (assuming he returns next season), I'd put AM's hustle out there as the bench mark expected from the rest of the team. They're not going to be able to out-talent teams next year so grit and hustle are going to be even more important.

How in the hell can you people really believe he is remotely serious?
