What's going on with Kongbo?

Kongbo apparently tweeted or posted something about ....what to do when an organization doesnt treat you fairly.

Not sure exactly what was said but I heard bits and pieces of Doug Mathews discussing it today on Nashville radio.

Thats why Kongbo was mentioned in press conference I assume.

One day, all these players will leave the game, and the next chapter of their professional lives will be their own decisions and of their potential employers.

In the future for Kongbo, if someone issues him top secret clearance, they need to be tried for treason.

The response to his signing was so typical VN. He was the next coming of Lawrence Taylor; he was going to wreak havoc every play of every game; he was unblockable and would make every tackle... the expectation was as unrealistic as the expectation for McKenzie when he signed.

We need to remember the jump to SEC football is a HUGE jump that is difficult for even the best of players. Let them mature, get acclimated to the size and speed of the game and they will be fine.

Absolutely agree. But there are examples of players coming in their first year and succeeding immediately, and we have a great example in Derek Barnett. But for the most part, yes, even well polished high school 4 and 5 stars take time to acclimate, much less a foreign student who picked up football three or four years ago.

This reminds me of the Forrest Gump movie and his analogy to various life events as a "box of chocolates". With recruits, you truly never know what you're going to get.

He's doing what his coaches ask him to do and learning a position that is not natural to him. Considering his limited experience, he is doing well. Not a quitter.

Swain filling us in this AM. My take based on everything i know... Dude is a cancer to the program. Needs to go IMO. Not worth the drama. Hurd was a cancer on the offense, Kongbo is a cancer on the defense.

Not mention that he's been playing organized football for what? 2 1/2 years now?

We all would have

He's actually been playing well all year.

A lot of people on here still don't understand stats vs effectiveness.

He's been getting pressure on over 1/2 of his snaps.

Now our secondary... that's a huge problem!

He also tweeted:

"It's for school chill"

Y'all need to not look so deeply at these kids post on social media.

I predict he will not be a member of this team in the near future...either on his own actions or Butch's. It's pretty easy to read between the lines of what Butch has said...several times at this point. We need team guys!

Oh, goody goody. We finally have someone who is real a locker room insider. I can't wait for more spot-on inside knowledge of what is going on with the Vols.

Don't have to be an "locker room insider" to be able to read this quote from Jones....

"Jones said juco DL Jonathan Kongbo must learn more about the `team
concept’ and still needs to grow and mature to help along DL"

That's a departure from Butch's earlier comments all season long about Kongbo where's he's been nothing but supportive and has defended Jonathan. Swain was discussing this this morning.

It was said after Hurd that there was another player making waves in the locker room and being a "drain, not a fountain". I thought it was Justin Martin. According to Swain, it may be Kongbo.

Caught the tail end of the radio show, but didn't Butch say he needs to buy into the system?

Lots of ways you can take that.

Buy into the system?? That implies he has enough experience to understand systems. I though he is raw talent. If he needs to buy in, the its to big boy football.
