152-52. How’s that for riding in the ground. Since 62-63 while Fulmer was not hereFulmer also would get his widdle ego all bwuised if Kiffin is considered. Or Leach. Or a myriad of other people who might offend the sensitive little pumpkin.
Like I said. Personalities and egos have almost destroyed the program. Let’s let Fulmer ride this thing into the ground. Just so long as his sensitive self-image stays intact.
Ten years in the making. Why don’t we just accept the fact that Pruitt and company were handed a roster full of players who don’t know how to play football at a high level. Give the poor guy more than one year with his staff to make some progress before we start firing off threads about what we think the fix is for a problem that’s 5 years in the making.
It is pitiful that fans would even entertain the thought of letting that snake kiffin ever enter Neyland stadium again
Have you seen their record this year?Tee was cutting the mustard well enough last year when they won the Pac-12. This year once he got rolling with his freshman QB, they were doing just fine.... and then Clay Helton did a grab over the play calling duties, and USC went 1-3 in their last four games scoring less points than they were before. Not entirely convinced Tee was their problem.
Kiffin and jalen hurts. Maybe WE could also get saban, shula, debose, stallings. Or maybe just start wearing crimsonBy the way it was Tee and Helton as CO-coordinators that helped USC. There was nobody from that program that could tell you who was actually calling the plays out there. They need a dynamic OC over there and it's not Helton or Tee. I would like to see them get Kiffin and let him try and bring Jalen Hurts here with him. This team is going to need a QB that can run for his like and it isn't JG.
So if someone offers you your dream job then you will turn them down and just be ok where you are at ? You go out and get the best person for the job. If that makes you unhappy then that is your issue. Winning must be the first priority not how the fans or administration feels. It was kiffin that gave us the middle finger. He should never be allowed to enter Neyland again, even as a spectator
He did such a great job there. There are to many good coaches to hire instead of that adolescent kiffin. So if someone offers you your dream job then you will turn them down and just be ok where you are at ? For me it’s not the playcalling so much as the lack of improvement and development. Particularly the OL and QB play. That’s coaching. I don’t expect a SEC caliber OL from this pathetic bunch, but I did expect to see improvement on fundamentals (body placement, hip rotation, use of hands, etc) none of that happened.
What has Kiffin done to suggest he would have us competing for the East? Nothing I’ve seen so far suggests such. Yes he had a good year last year but this year he finished 5-7. He couldn’t cut it at USC and then there was his stint in Oakland. So if someone offers you your dream job then you will turn them down and just be ok where you are at ? And Butch didn’t recruit enough OL at all. In 4 classes from 2014-2017 he recruited a total of 14 OL players. If every single one stayed and worked out I guess that would be enough in year 4 but of course that isn’t reality at all. I don’t even think half those guys were still here and available to play against Vanderbilt. And some of the guys weighed about as much as an Alabama LB when recruited. Gee, I wonder why our OL was so bad.First, I feel sorry that you have to live in that loser of a conference called the PAC12. My condolences to you and prayers for deliverance (smile). I am neither a former player or coach on any high level, just a huge Vol fan, so take my comments with that background. The QB play to me is very puzzling, so I cant argue with you about that. I've seen JG's HS highlights, and he looked every bit the part of a potentially great college player at the position. He may end up being really good, but I agree that it will be a huge shift for him mentally to get there. I will make some comment about the o-line. I so believe that BJ mis-evaluated a couple players, but some of the guys had rotten luck with injuries and health conditions (Chance Hall, Kennedy and Trey Smith). Timing of the chaos at UT was bad with players like Cade Mayes. Can you imagine our o-line this year with a healthy Smith, Kennedy, and Hall along with a freshman like Mayes? It wouldn't have surprised me at all that this team wins 2 to 3 more games this year with those guys. JMO
If Helton is out of the way, going out and getting Trooper Taylor, and letting him be OC and RB coach? He knows the SEC well, is an absolute beast of a recruiter, loves Tennessee, has proven good results working in high level offenses... And at the moment we would be plucking him away from Arkansas State...
I think the other thought that might catch people's eye is if USC fires their version of coach Helton, what becomes of Tee Martin?
Or maybe they cut Weinke out too and bring Martin is as QB coach and OC, then bring in Troop for RB coach and associate head coach?
