Now, not that there are Tennessee coaches taking time out of their schedule to scour this forum for coaching advise, what would you advise for them to work on before Bama and the other games? Great win for all of the longsuffering fans, but there is room for improvement. What would that be?

Speed will be an issue. We need the same simple concept of ball in space, but try to control the clock and hope your defense can make a coupke stops to keep us in it.

Keep the ball in the hands of your playmakers. You have 4 of them with two coming on strong. Guarantano, Chandler, Callaway, and Jennings are the 4 you have. Coming on strong to be playmakers are Jordan and Palmer.

Don't take this the wrong way. This was a great win, but we are far from a good team. There is plenty to work on:
  • tackling!
  • desperately work on the run game, even if it means running alternative plays that are like runs, like pop passes, pitches, end around, maybe some option, anything to get some semblence of a run game.
  • Get J. Jennings the ball any way possible.
  • Work on the 4 minute offense when protecting the lead. We were giving them 5-10 extra seconds every play by snapping the ball with time left on the play clock. That time adds up and almost cost us the game!
  • Converting 3rd / 4th and short!
  • Stopping the other team on 3rd down!
  • Don't lose sight of that dropped pass at the end, if they had made that play we potentially lose 31-30

Need to recruit offensive linemen. With even a average o-line TN will be a pretty good team.

Special teams must have an impact to beat a better team. Take a page out of Beamer ball and get very aggressive on special teams. Move the pocket use JG’s legs running qb’s with short hot routes of receivers to counter blitzes. Above all focused mistake free football.

While perfection hasnt been achieved I felt like the tackling was better today tha. it had been. She a couple of picture perfect form tackles made in space. Little things like that give me hope.

Agree on the run game. Our Oline isnt creating lanes or holes for the backs.

Agree with regard to JJ. He is a beast. Feed him.
