I thought this would be better to be in the recruiting forum. Mods move if necessary.

In light of all the penn state stuff that happened yesterday, there has been much discussion on here about some of their recruits flipping or current players transferring. Everyone has been wondering who we may have a shot at. It got me wondering, what if the shoe was on the other foot. If ut was in a situation where guys like bray, hunter, Da'rick, etc, were able to transfer for whatever reason. Who would stick by the program and who would leave? Then i thought, what if i were a player? What would i do? Which is the question i pose to volnation: if you were a recruit or current player, would you flip/transfer from the school you love or would you stick by the program no matter what?

This would probably work better as a poll but im on my phone and i dont know how to do one anyways. Also, this may be better for the football forum but i figure its dealing with aspects of recruiting so i put it here.

Agree it depends. If I'm an underclassman and good enough to play somewhere else, I'm gone! Why do you compete? To win championships.

In this situation as a committed recruit I would look else where. A senior or junior leader probably stays. Its a bad situation all together. Wish these kids the best. Go vols

I leave no matter what. Just a terrible situation for all parties.

Personally, i would find it hard not to stick by the school. Maybe thays the fan in me, but i grew up a tn fan and if i were lucky enough to be chosen to play for Tennessee i couldnt imagine going anywhere else. I wonder what a kid like austin sanders would do in that situation.

I'd leave. I wouldn't want what would most likely be the time of my life associated with something so heinous. Some of your fondest memories would be tarnished by the scandal, every game that's played it will be talked about, every offseason will be discussed in a "what could have been" scenario instead of optimism and hope. No thanks.

I would stay away from potential psu transfers. Chemistry is good right now.

Depends on the transfer. Malik Jackson became a leader on this team, and a guy that all the other players came to respect. I wouldn't take a kid of questionable character, even if he were really good, but if an underclassman with talent and a good head on his shoulders wanted to come, I think the team would take him with open arms.

Oh and as for me, unless I'm a senior or a draft bound junior, I'd leave as long as another top 40 program would take me.

..if your son was at home crying all alone on the bedroom floor cause he's hungry..

But seriously, I agree with the people saying it depends on your personal situation. It would kill me to have to leave UT, but you have to do what's best for you.

The tougher question for me is, what would you do as a fan? Could you still support the team after something like this? I love UT but it would be extremely tough to support a university that tried to cover up something so disgusting.

If what happened at PSU happened here our players would have to leave...cuase I'd burn the place down.

I'm gone, personally. How do you walk through the athletic facilities knowing what happened to small boys in those rooms and not be repulsed? I couldn't stomach that day in and day out.

If i was newly signed I look else where not being able to play for a Championship my whole college career doesn't sound exciting...

If we were in trouble because of rules violations I might stay, but raping boys is a different situation. I bail as fast as I can!

Phil, I didn't know you were a fan of City High?

This is awesome, just wanted you to know that I laughed out loud and got glared at in the office.

Staying loyal to my school and football program would be important to me in most situations. However we are talking about a coach molesting little boys and other coaches covering it up. I have a 3 year old boy and I couldn't imagine something like this happening to him. I would pack my bags!

Since most of our players are from other states and aren't inherently loyal to the program itself, most of our roster would bolt pretty quick if given the opportunity and similar sanctions.

If I'm a commit, current fr., soph., or jr., I'm outta there. Like stated earlier, I would want to play for bowls and championships.
