What will happen if we go 10-3?

I actually don’t think it’s a dumb question at all. Alabama will kill us but otherwise it’s not like anyone else on the schedule is some powerhouse.

People don’t want to hear it, but if you want Jones gone for sure, you better hope we lose several more games. We go 8-4 or better he’s definitely back and the cliches and slogans will be flowing.

10-3 is actually very doable.

The teams we have left on the schedule (minus Bama) are as much of a train wreck as we are.

That being said, I think if we go 10-3 Butch still leaves on his own.

Doubt bUTch leaves on his own accord! Would you leave $4,000,000 on the table by quiting a job???? Also, what are the chances that he lands at a job even close to the Tennessee job?? Maybe he lands at Akron, Toledo, Southern Miss., etc. etc.

By the looks of it, I think this is out of reach but there's always a chance. Does Jones get another year if this happens? I have a big opinion on this but I want to hear what other fans have to say.

Well as much as I would like that to happen,
history indicates with this much negativity surrounding a program coupled with a debacle like the beat down yesterday, a coach will lose the team and having a successful season is nearly impossible.

However should such an unlikely scenario play out UT would be fools to fire a coach that just went 10-3 and expect ANYONE except a desperate coach to come here. Firing a coach after a 10 win season can't happen unless he is suspected of breaking rules or laws. Of course wrecking your motorcycle with your mistress on the back of it can do that to you also... 😎😎

10-3 from how i felt yesterday after the game, is a win for the staff and a win for the fans, despite the 3 Losses being to FL,GA,AL. I would bet BJ keeps his job anything short of 7-5. Hopefully this AD wont give him another contract extension, and the 9 MIL buyout drops to 6MIL next season.

For the first time in about 10 years I'm not sure what to expect. It looks like Jones has lost the team and if that's the case probably 5-7. If he hasn't lost the team yet then 10-3 is very likely because our defense will keep us in every game besides bama. JG will start the rest of the year.

Do what? 10-3 isn't remotely doable. Btw Nation, our defense just gave up 41 points yesterday, how exactly are they going to keep us in any game we have left?

Yeah we will only lose to bama, but yet we struggled against UMass. Oh that’s right UMass is some much better than LSU, vandy, uk, usce.

After the garbage we saw yesterday we may not beat mizzou or so miss, and we are seriously at risk of having our first 8 loss season with a real chance at 9.

I'd say he stays for sure with 8-4 or better. He might get a pass at 7-5 but not from me.

I know we will let the season play out before making a move but I think he needs to go today.

We fired Fulmer for doing better than butch has.
Didnt we firr Fulmer for going 5-7 twenty yrars into his job? Didn't we lose to Wyoming at home coming? So that would be like if Butch lost to Massachusetts. As frustrating as it may be we did win that game.

The degenes is no the problem. The problem is that I belive the players have given up and when the offense does nothing snowball.

He hadn't actually gone 5-7 yet in his last season.

Fulmer was fired the week before the Wyoming game, so the comparison is not there.

To borrow a line from an ex player that currently works for UT.

"No one drawing a check from UT gives a $h!+ about this game."

Didn't know we could drop down to a FCS schedule
mid-season......?

Bob Stoops will win SEC coach of the year honors for taking over this godawful mess Lyle left mid season.

Hey our offense didnt score any points either . Doesn't matter how many points the D gave up if the offense doesn't score any

10-3 means we beat Vandy, SC, Mizz, SMU, Kentucky and an LSU that just lost to Troy. Yay.

10-3 won't get us to Atlanta.

At 3-2 one of the three was a 4 point win at home to 0-4 UMass scoring only 17 points. Our next game was one of the 2. We scored ZERO at Neyland Stadium.

I just don't see 10-3.

I said at the beginning of season, now that we have the AD with one foot out the door replaced, if Butch didn't get us to Atlanta, I would be ready to roll the dice with our administration and replace Butch.

10-3 against crap and losing the East twice to a coach that has been in the East Less time and going to lose it to him again OR a coach that is in the East his 2nd year, is not my idea of Tennessee football.

I'm not going to talk crap about Butch. I really am happy with much he has done.

This is just what I think about the situation and it doesn't mean Im right.

It's possible, but not likely. I bet we'll actually be underdogs at Kentucky. LSU and USC are tossups. Slight favorites over Mizzou and Vandy

It may be unrelated but what will happen if Trump swears allegiance to ISIS? I mean all signs point to that being impossible but it looks like we are dealing with all possibilities in this tread, no matter how crazy they sound.
