the attendance. What will the attendance be like this Saturday & through Nov., The '08 Bama game did Fulmer in when their fans took over Neyland.

If we lose these next 2 games there may not be 80,000 show up for the Troy and Mizzou game.

Losing any one of the Troy, Vandy, or Kentucky games after losing to Bama and SC will result in termination. Imo

Lets face it Dooley is not getting fans to the games. He will cost us $5 million for the buyout, but it has to happen. If the Alabama game is the sea of Crimson he needs to start packing his bags along with his "GREAT" defensive coordinator.

It is being reported that the payout is covered

The pressure is building like a pressure cooker and something is going to blow.

I really don't think a Scape Goat is needed...we just need to turn the page and move forward. It's too late now.

Attendance will be a factor, and so will the boosters.

The other thing people aren't paying much attention to right now: recruiting.

We're not doing too well in recruiting this year. We're ranked #21 overall by Scout, which is like maybe 10th or 11th in the SEC. And we're just a hair away from falling down to 12th in the SEC (with only Arkansas and Kentucky behind us).

If we stay around top 20 (overall), that's not disastrous, but if we lose to Bama and SC, and especially if we lose to someone else after that, I wouldn't be shocked to see a few defections. And maybe we start falling further, out of the top 25.

Recruiting isn't everything, but a poor class really undermines any legitimate case for keeping Dooley around. It's obvious his status on the hot seat is harming recruiting, and at some point, you simply can't attract top talent because everyone knows a coach isn't going to be around for long. At that point, there's really no choice but to fire the head coach if you want to save the program.

You can't let recruiting be too much of a factor in this case. We're in our current state because our previous AD put a higher priority on salvaging a single recruiting class than he did on hiring a competent, qualified coach.

It has to be.

The issues are totally different. When Kiffin left, Hamilton was so afraid of letting one recruiting class slip away, that he made a rushed hire, rather than doing something like Arkansas did this year. You don't make a hire for the sake of one recruiting class.

But we're talking about a much bigger issue here. This isn't a case of letting one recruiting class slip away. This is a case of recruits losing faith in the head coach, and hence, being much less willing to sign on. It's a crisis of confidence. If recruits don't believe your HC is going to be around much longer, they won't come to your school; which then ensures that your HC will have a harder time winning in the future. Once you hit that spiral, it's difficult to recover until you bring in a new coach.

It hasn't quite happened yet, but our last recruiting class was not that great, and this one isn't stacking up to be much better. If recruits begin to perceive that Dooley isn't going to be around for long ... and they may very well start to perceive that after a 3-5 start, or a 6th loss ... we'll have no real choice but to make a change.
