On Dooley if we win out the rest of the season? I know this is a big "if", but...we win at South Carolina, win at home against Troy and Mizz, on the road at Vandy, & finish off w/ a victory against Korntucky? That leaves the Vols w/ an 8-4 record and losses to 3 top 12 teams, & one potential finisher in the top 20. Go on to a bowl game and win that for a 9th victory.

Will you still be calling for his head or will you begin praising him?

I have been disappointed in the losses too, but I am willing to review the season as a whole. Did we mature as a team? What is working...what is broken? Did the team hold together amidst adversity? I want to see the complete body of work. The close losses are tough to choke on. Had Florida up until the end of the 3rd quarter (turns out they are pretty legit), hung w/ UGA till the end in Athens, hung w/ Miss State till the end despite shooting ourselves in the foot over and over the first half.

I feel if we can gel on Defense and stop getting gashed w/ big plays...this team and season could be very different. We can compete w/ the best...we just need to finish strong. Minus about 4-5 big plays this season and we are standing at 6-1, not 3-4.

Go Vols!

If he is not fired after the USCe game win or lose, I may do like the cousin in Christmas Vacation and pay a visit to Hart's home. Someone get the duct tape.

not to be that guy, but if "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

the problem with this team is how they totally and completely fall apart. they are their record.

I would still probably pull for some new blood. SCAR would be his first signature win in the SEC and they are coming off of two losses nonetheless. As far as the November schedule, it would be a disappointment to lose to any of those teams.

I would feel like we hung an innocent man.

Therefore, we haven't scheduled the announcement until Monday. Then we shall know for sure.

Even IF we won out (which is highly unlikely), it wouldn't be because of the coaching. I'd still want Dooley gone.

IF the team and coaches can do that it would be nothing short of a miracle. Everyone would get a raise.

A win against USC would just be an (very convenient) anomaly and not the rule when it comes to this coaching staff. Winning would probably be more lucky than skill. As for the rest of the games, well they better win those, if they would manage a win this weekend and then would manage to lose to any of the remaining teams then they better fire Dooley as soon as the clock strikes zero of that game.
So in short i don't care if we do win out the seasons, Dooley is in over his head and he's done what he was hired to do by Hammy, keep some of Kiffins staff and rebuild the roster. For that I thank him, but its time to get a coach that can take the roster and win with it. If we wait another year we will have almost no top talent left, an oline with next to zero experience and a secondary full of big east/acc talent. you think caches didnt wanna come after kiffin left, just wait and see how many laugh at us this time cause we allowed Dooley to turn us into the joke of the SEC and allowed him to do it with the only real talent on this team.

I don't waste my time in dream world. I live in reality. Do you also sit around and wonder what you would do if you won the lottery? Haha

If Dooley loses, he is a bad coach. If Dooley wins, he is still a bad coach. That is not a good situation to be in, but the majority would not believe that.

The odds of a 9-4 record this season are about the same as winning the lottery.

It does not matter. We cannot compete with the "Big Three" on our schedule--UF, UGA, Bama--so there is not point in keeping him. This was one of the big problems at the end of the Fulmer era. UT is a program that should be right in the mix with those three programs and when we are losing to all three of these teams year after year, the fans get fed up. We are not close to that, and Dooley's "top 15" recruiting and poor coaching will never get us there. He has not shown us otherwise.

I, along with every other vol fan, am not satsified with 8-4 or 9-3 and losing to Bama, UF, and UGA every single freakin' year. It's absurd.

Now that you mention it, this season does feel like a 1 year subscription to the jelly of the month club while every other team gets a 20% raise.

My thoughts are pulling for TN in each game they play regardless the outcome. Sure losing hurts. If we win that's great. The players are playing as good as they can play...book it. At season's end, Dave Hart makes those tough decisions for the good of the program. It's not me or you to kick our coach to the curb because that's not our job remember. So, in the meantime, cheer on TN to win like it's your last day to enjoy the football season which is so short. Just my thoughts.

If we win out, we will be talking about how we lost to 4 top ten teams, one of which will either play for or win the NC. We will then discuss how we shoulda beat MSU and GA and coulda beat FL. We will rationalize our way into the best 4 loss team in America and settle for mediocrity going in to '13

If you go to a restuarant and order a steak cooked medium rare and it comes out burnt your not gonna send it back to the chef to get another one because its the chefs job to cook the steaks?Your not gonna complain to the manager if the chefs refuses to redo your steak? Your gonna continue to go to that restuarant after the management keeps employing the chef that cant cook?

Thats basically whats going on here, Hart is the management, Dooley is the Chef, and we fans are customers and yes as fans essentially thats what we are, is customers. We buy the products, the merch, the tickets, the concessions.Sure its Harts decision to make whther he keeps Dooley or not, but if he isn;t listening to the fans and keeps a coach we don't want eventually the fans will stop coming to games, they will stop buying merch. So yes it is Harts job to make the decision thats best for the company(the team) but if the fans(customers) aren;t telling him things are wrong, what they don;t like and what they would like then he won't really have any clue what the best decision is.

The odds of UT ACTUALLY getting Gruden to a long term deal are like 1,000-1. The fans think hes going to be hired only to jump ship in 2-3 yrs for another NFL gig...so it would be pointless to hire a guy that knows he wont stick it out for the long haul...he might be an awesome recruiter but UT needs a coach thats willing to rebuild this once proud program again and keep it at the top with the teams like Alabama, Oregon and Florida and Ohio State; teams like that..if UT refuses to unload their checkbook on a proven winner of a coach then they will NEVER rise to the top of the SEC ever again...plain and simple!! I will s*** my pants if I read that Gruden has agreed to coach UT...it would be a complete shocker!!!
