What will be UT's strong point(s) on the field during the '10 season?

special teams are 1/3 of the game. sometimes it can be the difference between a fat W or L. just look at last year's Bama game. they made 4/4 field goals including two 50 yarders whereas we made 1/4

Unfortunately, I doubt the Bama game will come down to field goals this year...

I say D-line, running back, receiving corps and our secondary.

1st string defense with LBs being surprise unit
Ball-catchers (WR and TE)

The memories of 2005 and 2008 linger in my mind. We have a chance to catch people by surprise if we stay healthy, and if we get consistent production from QB spot. If Simms / Bray "pull a Crompton" (I know, I'm bad), the defense will be ravaged thanks to 40 min per game on the field.

i think there are going to be a couple of games we shock people. i really dont think our talent is THAT bad. its just our DEPTH. as long as we stay healthy we just may go bowling...

Hopefully the kicking game and special teams will be improved. If so we could beat a team we have no business beating. This aspect of the team has to improve for Tennessee to compete for championships. I have a feeling Dooley understands this and hopefully he'll make it happen.

As with everyone else... I think Receiving Corps, RBs, LBs are our strengths.

QB and OL are so far down the line they're a liability.

Great Post. (The 2nd part). I agree. I've said it a few times in various threads, I love the fact that no one is giving us a chance. Dooley + Co should play that up as much as poss.

I'm really excited to see what our special teams will look like. If there's one thing Dooley is praised for (in addition to recruiting), it's his special teams. We have had problems in that area for a long time, and I'd like to see what we can put on the field this year. I'm hoping that better field position this year might help us make up for an o-line that might not be strong enough to drive us all the way down the field.

Kicker: I am going to say that will be a much improved position with Palardy in the mix. also the juco transfer FG kicker(cant think of his name) looked pretty solid in the spring game. made a couple 40+ yarders look pretty easy. :clapping:
