Florida will be the toughest but for second place, it could very well be Cal. I think that the Vols play up or down to their level of competition alot. With the easy blowout last year, coach has to make sure they aren't complacent. Cal will come out swinging with big guns to get the crowd into it, trying to get a big play going.

Bama. Returning very good talent and experience on both sides of the ball.

UF lost about 10 out of their defensive two deep. The no huddle should prevent them from making the kind of substitutions needed to stay fresh. We don't know what UF's offense will be like.

Cal will be ranked higher and favored... The WR's will have been maligned all year (with Trooper using it to motivate them)... in fact the whole team will probably be dissed by one "expert" or another by then. UT shouldn't have any lack of motivation for Cal. If you smack a team around only to see them rise above you in the rankings after a 1 pt loss to UF then have them favored the following year... you ought to be pretty well ticked off.

Who cares? Hiring Saban is like pouring sugar on a turd. It may appear tasty, but underneath its still a pile of $h|7.

But in this case, Alabama's returning talent isn't a turd. It's a canoli, and Saban is the powdered sugar.

I say Cal since it's the first game of the season, and you have to win the first one to go undefeated

second will be Florida

Cal, the Vols killed there hopes and dreams first game of the season last year. They came into the game in the top ten and some picked them to win it all. The vols wiped their #&$ with the golden bears last year and they will be ready for us this year. Playing at Cal will be though not as tough as the swamp, but Cal will be looking to prove something.

I have to say Florida is probably still sitting in the back of my head as the biggest worry though.

Anyone recall the last time the Vols lost on openning day?
