second, agreed it was a first win to reestablished ourselves. We have a job to do. I believe we are ready for the job.

A contender. Not a lock. It's a copletely fair statement. I think it has more with how we won, rather than we just won. To show that heart, focus and determination to come back like that...that's what championship teams are made of. Granted we will know more in the coming weeks, but right now UT is a legit playoff contender until proven otherwise.

Not sure about that. I love my Vols but are we up there with Bama, Ohio State, Louisville, and Clemson (Top 4 teams IMO)?

If we can continue to score 35 points in 14 minutes, while forcing repeated 3 and outs, we absolutely are.

That's a yes. We are able to compete with alabama very well this year. Ohio state are amazing but very young and I'm not sure they can do it all season, and by the way. I was drunk and don't remember who it was, but one of the UT receiver s made an equally great catch in the florida game as Brown. Louisville has been built for the florida state game and they did their job but they now have some very difficult games...I can see two loses. Clemson is the big equalizer. I think Clemson is very, very sneaky good that hasn't played their best yet. Much like us.

We are a 3rd of the way thru the season and can't put a complete game together.

The true contenders are not having that problem.

I can tell you all that there weren't many of that ilk in Neyland last Saturday; at least on the lower-east-side of the stadium where my crew and I were sitting (well...standing about 95% of the time). All I heard all afternoon was cheering and not whining...everyone singing Rocky Top and screaming when the gayduhs had the ball The discrepancy between the negative ("realistic") versus the optimistic Vol fans is exponentially greater than this site represents. That's understandable since their mouths would be forcibly shut pretty quickly by most UT fan whilst projecting such utterences...far quicker than by pushing keyboard buttons in the privacy of their own trailers or apartments. "Must have a rough home life, living with mom or wifey or.............alone. AMIRIGHT?:yes:

We are only a legit playoff contender IF we play every team like we did in the second half vs Florida.

I'm not so sure just yet. One thing I am sure of, this team just wins. I think that's our identity and that's what we'll be for the remainder of the year. It's not always gonna be pretty, but we come through and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

It's the rope a dope. We just wear them the hell out to be frank. We just out last them. That;s our identity. It's our style. We pride ourselves on being tougher. T tough isn't just "coach speak" It's our identity.

They came out strong, and we had just rebuilt our Oline. I think we are a very different team now and continue to get better as we get healthy. We won. By the way. There are quite a few people here that would argue that we played very well in the ohio game. We came out blazing.
