2016 was unchartered territory for Butch Jones as a head coach. In his previous 2 stops he left after year 3...albeit for better opportunities each time.

If you've been in business/sales, etc. you've seen people that job hop up the career ladder in hopes of outrunning the truth and by the time it catches up to them they're set anyway.

So is CBJ that guy? He's never coached a "year 4" ever. He'd been on to his new stop by this time. Last night was frustrating, not just because of the loss, but moreso from the lack of discipline and energy coming off a well-needed bye week. This looked very much like 2011-2012...and that's what scares me.

We also didn't know how he'd navigate a big program. He's also never been with a major program prior to coming here, even as an assistant.

This is kinda like my thread on perception being 99% of reality. He can't fool us anymore, and there is no where else to run except to the bank.

We also didn't know that year 4 would be marked by massive injuries to key players.
NOT an excuse. Not buying it.
EVERY team has injuries.

Bottom Line = JV Coach with a Middle School Staff trying to play with the Big Boyz. Combine that with a Tight End playing QB and it is what it is!!

Tail Gate, drink a lot and "wait til next year"!! :hi:

BULLMANURE! Injuries are part of football. He has been touted as a great recruiter. Why were there no offensive linemen to fill in for injuries? Why is a walk-on LB starting? It is simply piss poor management of the program.
