Personally I have not felt the same about UT football since 2017 UF. OU sucked but at least they weren't a conference rival. That 2017 UF game killed something in my heart for UT football.

I'm liking this to agree with it - not to express any positive emotion about that crap show of an ending.

Tell us your most heartbreaking moment as a sports fan?

Mine has to be the Texas A&M double overtime loss in 2016.
Or
Florida in 99, first loss after winning the National championship.

Losing 9-6 to Alabama in 1990 was probably the worst. Auburn coming back to tie that year was also up there. That team should’ve played for a NC. Those two games kept us from doing so.

Florida 97, Florida 93, Bama 93 (another tie that felt like a loss), and LSU 01 are up there. Losing to Purdue in the Sweet 16 a couple years ago was painful because that team deserved to go further and the officials stole it.

Game 7 of the 1991 World Series, Dyson coming up a yard short in the Super Bowl, and the Preds loss to the Pens in the 17 Stanley Cup Final are the most painful non-Vol moments.

2001 was a tough year

1. I was also at the Hobnail boot game,
and then
2. Matt Mauck having our way with us

Everything else since then is just more shat on an already shatty shoe

1999 D2 National Championship. Carson-Newman blew a 20 point lead in the 4th qtr to end up losing in the 4th OT.

Final play of Super Bowl XXXIV. Too dang many from the VOLS to pick. Seems they can always find a way to crush VN's heart...

My dad and I were sitting in the opposite end zone and both of us thought Dyson made it into the end zone! I’ll never forget how heartbreaking that one was.

Titans Super Bowl
Nearly every time the Caps play the Penguins in the playoffs
2017 USA/Trinidad & Tobago WC qualifier
2012 NLCS game 7 - being at the game in the pouring rain watching the Cardinals lose while 42k celebrated was depressing.
Good one, I was in shock after.

Remember listening to this game on the radio and feeling so depressed afterwards.
