Tell us your most heartbreaking moment as a sports fan?

Mine has to be the Texas A&M double overtime loss in 2016.
Or
Florida in 99, first loss after winning the National championship.

Hands down worst sports moment was the 2001 SEC Championship game vs. LSU.

I still have nightmares of the name Rohan Davies.

This. Not only was it crushing in the moment, but looking at it in historical context, it could be argued that it was the moment Tennessee started its descent into the abyss.

College Football: 2001 SEC Championship Game.
NFL: Titans Super Bowl loss.
College Basketball: 2000 Sweet 16 collapse to UNC, very close second the 2007 Sweet 16 collapse to Ohio St.
MLB: 2003 NLCS Cubs choke against the Marlins
NHL: Predators choking in the playoffs the year they won the President's Cup.
NBA: Don't really have one but probably back when the Grizzlies still had never won a playoff game and they blew one against San Antonio.

Tie between 2015 and 2017 against florida
Mine was the disrespect that I watched and experienced at the Alabama game the year Fulmer was let go.! As a FAN....I was taught sportsmanship while I played sports. Never in my life have I ever seen fans acted so bad EVER!!! Booing wasn’t nothing compared to the ranting and screaming/booing Tennessee off the field as they left. After they beat us pretty convincing throughout the game. I had an elderly couple sitting by me that just kept apologizing to me. I was the only one in my group that was a Tennessee fan. As we left there was someone who threw a aguafina litter bottle from the second deck area. I was the only one in the area around me in orange. It was the most disgraceful and humiliating feeling I’ve ever had to handle.!!! CLOSE # 2.....Peyton losing the Heisman !!!

It was our last chance to win another Natty. It was also before we really knew who Nick Saban was as well. I remember yelling at Stallworth with that cast on to get down when he caught that pass across the middle, but he tried for the extra yards and fumbled. We had so many chances to win that game and squandered them all. Meanwhile we hurt Rohan and this other dude named Mauck comes in and just runs QB draws up the middle.

As a follow-up question: when did you first feel numb to the football program?
It wasn’t until UK this year. Been watching every single Tennessee game since the early 90s, and this season is the first time I admitted to myself that it shouldn’t affect my life as much as it does.
Also, can you get on board with my claim of Super Bowl 50? I was so sure we’d win that one.
