What was your first game at Neyland?

Mine was 1968-Tennessee v. Alabama. My dad traded end zone tickets for seats on about hte 30-35 yd line. (Sec B, if I remember correctly). ABC had that for their game of the week (No cable back then). The Tennesse band introduced the now famous circle drill that day. Karl Kremser kicked a then record 54 yd FG, and Tennessee blocked a potential Alabama winning FG in the last seconds (Jimmy Weatherford, I believe). The Vols won 10-9.

i know i attended some games in the majors years, but I honestly can't recall them now. First one i remember was the '93 (i believe) duke homecoming game. for years when I was younger my aunt could always get tickets to the homecoming games so I went to those for like 5-6 years.

I was at that game too. We got out tickets from a scalper outside of the stadium. My mom just up and decided she wanted to go that morning.

95 maybe 96 I was in 4th or 5th grade. Rainy game against Arkansas, Dwayne Goodrich broke the game open in the second half with a punt return for a TD. I still have the hat I bought while I was there. That firmly instilled in me the fact that I could not go to any school other than UT. I am a junior here now.

I grew up on campus at UT - I could see Neyland stadium from my apartment window - but as my family came to Knoxville from India in '86 (I was 2), football wasn't that big (except for me). I think I would've felt a bit uncomfortable going to the game by myself as a youngun!

I remember that game because it was early and it was freezing.

The first one I truly remember caring about was the '85 Auburn game. I was selling cokes in the stadium that season but quit early to go sit with my parents and watch. The goal posts came down plus I was a sticky $40 richer! Great night for a 10-year-old.

I started going when I was 5 so that would have been the '88 season cause i turned 5 in dec. of 87. not sure which game, but didn't miss a home game from the time i was 5 til i was 18. then i went off to play bball at college, but i still made it to 2 or 3 games a yr. season tickets, very fortunate.

1978 home opener vs. UCLA. Was a freshman at UT experiencing Neyland for the 1st time but had seen the Vols play multiple times in Memphis.

TN vs Bama '89. It was the coolest thing that I had ever done. I sat in the box seats with my friend and his dad & mom. His dad's business either owned or bought the box and we later went back the following year (I think to see UT vs UCLA). I was 14 years old and been a huge fan ever since.

1997, Tennessee vs. Arkansas. Took me 23 years before I saw my first game, been back every year since.

86 or 87 UT vs. UCLA. I don't remember much but 'just being there', I was 8 or 9. My grandfather tells me we tied, UCLA kicked a long field goal at the end....and Reveiz was still our kicker. I have been to tons since then and just this year got to take my two boys to their 'first UT game' vs. Kentucky. Thomas is 3 and Cooper is 1. Needless to say Coop didn't stay, he just saw the VolWalk and band comin down. lol. Thomas dragged me around that whole friggin stadium. lol GO BIG ORANGE!!!
