There were 17,984 very upset KY fans in the stands. I know because I told each one of them to suck it...

There were a lot of KY Jelly folks there. The student sections were well peppered with blue since those tickets were sold to the public. The typical "visitor" areas were also mixed because KY returned some of their original allotment. I would guess 15-20% would be close. I hoped they clean up all the crying towels along I-75.

TOO MANY........my guess sitting on the east sideline was maybe 10,000....my guess from watching the replay from the west sideline.....maybe 15-20000.......JMO

Ive been to numerous UK @ TN games and there was by far more UK fans there yesterday than I've ever seen. The pisser is there were so many in the north endzone. I would give tix to a Tn fan before I sold them to a Ky fan.

But, in reality, they smelled blood in the water. They knew the streak was going to end and they didnt want to miss it.

I also loved that the blue faithful had to see BRUUUUUUCE and OUR Preseason NIT Champion basketball team. Just one of those good days.

Kentucky fans travel as well as anyone in the country. Given the fact that more tickets were available than in years past, a higher percentage of fans showed up to Neyland yesterday.

Seriously, the UK fans view was that the UT was weaker than it had ever been for MANY years. If they were to beat us, THIS was the year. Frankly, they were correct to presume this and they gave it a heck o a go. Just didn't work out that way in part because the Vols wanted to win just as bad and the battle was in our house.

Next year isn't a given victory for us. Our big play seniors will be gone. Our team remains young and thin. But freshman all around the SEC this year have shown they can play and seriously contribute to teams. So if CDD & Co. recruit well, KY will likely see us put them in the hole for 27 years. If that happens, I do believe we will get as high as 30 years before they manage an upset win on us.

yeah it was very disappointing to see so much blue in our stadium yesterday. I agree with a previous poster, i would give my tickets to a ut fan before i sell them to a uk fan.

It looked like about 30 percent unless a lot of Vols were wearing blue.

Sure didn't sound like that many. I was surprised that they could not generate more noise, especially in the 1st quarter when it looked like they could be on the verge of a blowout.

If you were at the game, and are unhappy with how many opposing fans were there, then you should have talked your friends into going or bought them a ticket.

If you sat home and watched the game, and are unhappy with how many opposing fans were there, then you should have had your butt in a seat.

And if your excuse for either is that you didn't have the time, money, etc to go, or pay someone else's way to go, then why are you complaining?

I really don't see the big deal. It's a competitive sport. That means fans on both sides of the ball. I like the fact that Neyland is a place where an opposing fan would spend their money to go. And truthfully, I like playing against teams who have fans that show up.

Well said... The only reason so many UK fans came to the game was that they thought this was finally the year. Any other year, they would be lucky to have enough fans there to even notice. I'm from KY and a lot of my friends made the trip down, for that reason only. I hope they all had a miserable trip up I-75, on their way home. As for me, my trip home was lovely. HaHa. GO VOLS!

Argue about the percentage all you want.

I just don't get how they send back 6k tickets...then so many of them wander down here to buy directly from UT (thanks for the money, geeks), off the streets, or from the blue hairs.

Are they really that dumb?

Have the 100 level sellouts at the Tommy Bowl spoiled them?

I just don't get those people.
