What was the official reason Creer left the team?

Was it because he was lazy or just did not think he would be high enough on the depth chart with Oku and Brown coming in? I really liked the way he ran.

Kiffin said he took away Creer's one-digit jersey number to make him earn it. Maybe he wasn't willing to do the necessary work to earn it like Brandon Warren has.

Good to know. I was wondering the same thing.
No worries though, Our RB depth will be amazing anyway when this class get some experience.

I don't blame Creer for leaving. He clearly either felt like he was the best RB on the team and wasn't getting the shot he thought he deserved, or he realized that he was getting passed up and wanted to make a name for himself somewhere else. Either way, i'm glad he made the right decision.

was falling down depth chart with current roster. Didn't want to put out the effort required.. time to go

Did Lane grant Creer an unconditional release or were there restrictions (SEC, future opponents)?

I'd guess any mid major around east Texas is a possibility for Creer. Maybe North Texas, Houston, TCU, Louisiana Tech, UL-Monroe or Arkansas State.

Creer will be widely recruited to a ton of top schools. I'm thinking he will end up in the Big 12 somewhere or a pro style spread offensive team.

teams i think he would fit in well with:

Ok St
Texas
Oregon
Cal
Texas Tech

Texas didn't recruit him out of high school. Not sure they'd want him after he spent three years and was never able to get beyond 3rd on the depth chart.

Or after he quit because he allegedly couldn't handle the workload. I doubt any serious contender wants him.

If that is true, then that debunks the theory of removing the names off the jerseys to get guys to focus on the team.

Even if you took away the names, you would still have people that want to identitfy themselves in some fashion. Communists don't seem to understand this simple fact of human nature. People want to be recognized as individuals more than as a member of a collective...

I think Mike Leach learned his lesson last year and knows what he needs is a decent back to get over the edge. Texas Tech will also at least give Creer some exposure. The other big schools in the Big 12 would rather pickup a 4 - 5 star high school senior.
