  • Talent always comes before seniority or “family”.
  • If you don’t demand perfection from your execution, you aren’t going to get it.
  • Create buzz with your offense. Win with your defense.
  • There is no such thing as paying too much attention to detail.
  • Special teams are worthy of the head coaches undivided attention.
  • If you have a horse…ride it.
  • Hire black coaches with white wives. (Apparently no one else in the SEC will want to hire them)
  • Your personal reputation among opposing coaches and fans is completely irrelevant.
  • Winning National Championships should help recruiting.
  • When you have your foot on their throat, always finish the job.

It's also alright to give one of your star players the burning eyes of death for slapping you on your backside.

Great list.

Another thing UM has proven is you don't have to have any discernible chin bone to be a great coach. He's a torch bearer for those afflicted in that manner.

Get the best players.

Demand that they execute.

It's a good list, Lex, but those are the only two that matter. There are different formulas for accomplishing those goals, but when you go through the list of dynasties over the years, those are the two common themes.

Florida has more talent then anyone else, and Meyer knows how to use it.

USC might beg to differ on that one. I know Meyer's stated goal is not to have the most talented team but to have the fastest team in America. He might have that.

demanding execution and getting it are two very different things.

* Always be recruiting
(I heard that he was on the phone with recruits after the game last night).
