What underrated recruit (3-star or lower) has CJP recruited and developed that has given everyone this idea he is a great talent evaluator?

Troll. You’ve already played this game in the Darnell Washington thread. It’s obvious you heart Kirby.
Played what game? I'm asking what recruits, under the radar recruits he has developed.

As far as Coach Buttfront goes it is possible to say I hate UGA and I also realize they are dominating the East by a mile and both be true. Kirby needs to move on to the NFL or somewhere else. That would help us tremendously.

All of the Freshman AA's were 4 and 5 star's.

I agree with you on this one. Pruitt has a history of taking top recruited talent and turning them into stars. There was a post game press conference in 2018 where he said something like “I’ve never coached players where you put them in the position to succeed and they just don’t. As coaches we can do a lot but the players still have to execute on the field.”

Teaching and leading highly motivated individuals is different than average guys. Peyton has said he would be a bad OC b/c he would expect players to know the entire offense like he would. We’ve seen this with Pruitt’s defense where some players don’t know how to line up or who to cover. This tells me Pruitt is teaching at a fast pace and trying to implement a large playbook. That is easier with highly rated players who are also highly motivated.

Kirby is a fresher version of Richt, but more annoying. The only thing he's done in games has been out talent others, and even that has backfired (see tge South Carolina game). His game day coaching skills aren't great, and they probably won't be. His recruiting has already slipped this year, which means he's gonna stop just having tge best talent. The pups days at tge top of the east are numbered. Losing Pittman, a few lineman, and having tension between his qb and oc will hurt them next season. Wait till the sugar bowl, I would bet Baylor runs them off the field.

Well considering all the freshman AA’s were 4 and 5 stars, then we should be in good shape. We have more 4 stars coming in than 3 stars.

So I’m confused as to why there is even a question regarding 3 stars.

Deandre Baker and Levi Wallace. A 3 star and a zero star...both NFL starters.
Didn't the Superbowl a few years ago, i think NE vs Seattle, have nothing but 2-3 stars on the roster? Seems like I remember seeing that. Nothing to do with your post, it just reminded me😄

Kirby has already bounced off his ceiling...which is still a good ceiling. But, I agree, he isn’t much better than Richt and he has limitations that likely will keep him from ever winning it all.

You are correct. There is no direct proof that he can make a 3 star a stud player yet. Given he has only had 2 years, I would say that is expected. I have seen the team start playing more as a team, which lends itself better to development. Iron sharpens iron, but that iron needs to be moulded into something that can actually be useful for sharpening.
Butch Jones just ran around with a sword he bought off eBay and told everyone he was a ninja.

They had a lot of lower ranked players, but Marshawn Lynch was a top 10 player out of high school so it couldn’t have been all.

NO! I want Kirby to stay. Just so I can have the immense pleasure of a Pruitt team stomping the poop out of the Bulldogs and making both Kirby and Uga eat it.

I realize these are debatable, but how about these guys?

Shawn Shamburger
Trevon Flowers
Theo Jackson
Baylen Buchanan
Kenneth George JR
K'Rojhn Calbert
Kurott Garland
Austin Pope
LaTrell Bumphus
Matthew Butler
Kivon Bennett
Darel Middleton

Not saying any of these guys are superstars right now, but I've seen good plays and some contribution from all of them.

This is the best description of Jones I have seen.

The same could be said about Nick Saban and he’s the greatest coach of this era. It’s not about developing the under the radar recruits. Yeah it’s nice when that happens and it’s a feel good story but that’s not what wins you championships. It’s about taking the top notch recruits and making them even better.

Because stars are typically skewed towards raw athletic ability... The NFL is not made up of the top gym freaks or super athletes, it's made up of people that know how to work within a system and and play football... That is the superior aspect of the NFL...

I think what he did with the defensive line this year is promising. None of those guys, with the exception of Aubrey Solomon, were exceptionally highly-recruited. Getting a solid year out of someone like Darrel Middleton, a 3-star JUCO transfer, is something that Butch was very infrequently able to do.
