Guys, forgive me if I am being slow. But, I seem to remember a thread that came through with things to do while in Nashville for the bowl festivities (where to eat, things to see, etc.). I just picked up my tickets to the game and I need to know where to find that thread. Looking forward to the trip to Nashville and seeing the Vols put a mollywhoppin on those Tarholes!!!!!! GBO!!!

The Beer Sellar is a good place if you want to drink a bit before the game, Welcome to the Beer Sellar - Nashville, Tennessee

Also BB Kings Blues lounge is a cool place to hang out. Also there's Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, and several country bars around on Broad Street. Lots of good restaurants around.

Would like to know what a "mollywhoppin" is, too. :)

Sounds great. Thanks for the great info. And, to be honest, I thought it was another word for a** whoopin. I am not sure what the actual definition is.

I love the Nashville night-life. A nice dinner and then walking up and down Broad, listening to different styles of music. Its really nice in the warmer season. For a family, The Wildhorse Saloon has great food, dancing for all ages and on most nights has great music. If its just you and the lady, dinner on the General Jackson is nice but have to make reservations. Also for the family, if you havent been to Gaylord for Christmas it is absolutely awesome, the lights and ice sculptors are great. Demo's is a nice place for dinner, alot of "stars" eat there, again may need reservations but its not as expensive as you might think, our dinner for 2 was around $70 with dessert. Of course if youve never been to The Grand Ole Opry, you should at least once, even if your not a big Country fan, it is a nice show, you can check the schedule on-line to see who the artists are for whatever night you might go, again, get tickets in advance. The Country Music Hall of Fame is neat too.

The beer sellar is the best IMO. Hooters is right above it on the corner of 2nd ave & church st. There's mcfaddens and BB Kings on 2nd ave, Margarettaville, caddilac ranch, the stage, Jacks BBQ all on broadway. The tin roof is near west end somewhere in there

Hope y'all have a great time I know I will!!!!!

I figured as much, but it just sounded funny. :) Enjoy your time in Nashvegas! I miss it. I'm from Mt. Juliet originally, grew up there, but moved to Chattanooga for college and now live in Ringgold, GA. Every time I go back home to visit, something new is in Nashville or MJ. I can't keep up anymore!

Ah yes, I almost forgot. You have to take the 20 minute drive to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Resort (I hate that name) now that it's open again after the floods. They have a BEAUTIFUL Christmas display. If you can, park at the Opry Mills Mall parking lot and walk over to the Hotel, though. The hotel charges like $10 or $15 for parking. :loco::crazy:

Lived in Nashville for 10 years...anywhere on Broadway is a good time...there is an 80's and 90's bar on the corner of 2nd Ave and Broadway thats a blast!. But Honestly I had more fun on Demonbruen St and Division St than anywhere. Demonbruen has a strip of bars and resturants...the orginal Tin Roof is there and there is a great Irish Pub on the same street called Dan McGuiness with amazing food! Division St has several good bars...Losers and Red Door are a few. Division St intersects with Demonbruen. Everything is a very short cab ride...3 or 4 bucks tops..its all realativly close. Another great area to eat is "The Gultch" It has 7 or 8 resturants ...Sambuca, Cantina Latratio and a few others . Its on 10th Ave and about 100yards from Demonbruen. If you like sushi there is a place near there called PM's near Belmont University and its fantastic. Hopes this helps

If you are into music, Zac Brown Band will be at the arena the night before gameday. Otherwise, check out the blues club in Printer's Alley. They opened back up a few months ago. It is a little less touristy than BB King's.

There are some great restaurants to try out while in Nashville. Choose between The Pancake Pantry and Loveless Cafe. You can't lose.

The lunch crowds will be big at Swetts and Monell's. You won't find better food anywhere than these two places.

Nashville has some great dining establishments that range from the Sunset Grill if you want to rub elbows with the stars, Sperry's, The Palm, The Stockyard, Mortons of Chicago, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Stoney River Legendary Steaks, The Omaha Steakhouse, and Flemings for Steaks.

There are all kinds of watering holes downtown on 2nd avenue and on Broadway.

There are a lot of sightseeing tours available. You have The Frist Center, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Opryland Hotel Christmas, The Rockettes Christmas, The Ice Show at Opryland, Pro Bass Shops, and various concerts playing in Nashville at that time.

Music fans will want to get down and dirty, head over to the Bluebird Cafe, The Station Inn, Tootsies Orchid Lounge, The Bluegrass Inn, The Exit Inn.

Swett's moved to Green Hills after the flood.

The lower Broad / 2nd Ave area is a great place to bar hop with tons of places. Sure, the overriding theme is country music but you can find more.

Roberts Western Wear. Dont let the name fool you. At night they usually have a Rock-A-Billy band playing. The music really bridges the gap between classic country and rock n roll. A good break from the cry in your beer places.

Legends Corner (5th and Broad). Yeah, this is a classic honky tonk bar but it is fun. Its got the same music at Tootsies but its bigger. The walls are lined with old record album covers (yes, RECORD albums). You can find anything from country to rock. A fun game here if you've got a bunch of people is everyone throw a dollar in the middle of the table and pick a country artist. You win the pot if the band plays a song by that person/group.

Dont be scared to venture up to Printers Alley. In days of old it was a pretty nasty place but now its safe and fun. Highly, highly recommend Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar. The best house band I've heard. The place is small though.

There are some non country things on Broadway too. Baileys is a multi level sports bar. Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville just opened. Hard Rock cafe was redone and is supposed to be great (if you like that kinda stuff). The Palm in the Sheraton across from Bridgestone Arena is great upscale dining. Game day might be a bit crowded.

Try Allium for brunch. My favorite bar in town right now is The Melrose. Best bar food in town, a million TVs, and ample parking. Great for sports.

This is a little random, but one of my favorite restaurants in town right now is Bombay Palace on West End. If you like Indian food, you absolutely must try it. It's located in the old Vandyland location.

Geez, am I the only one that hates going downtown? Once every couple of years, we might end up at a honky tonk like Robert's, for a birthday celebration, but that's about it for me. Too many other great places in town to fool with that headache.
