Idk what category this falls under so I am just going to put it here. This season has made me such a better fan and more respectful of the game and players that come through the University of Tennessee. I have always considered myself as a fan of the vols, but not untill this year, and this basketball team, have I ever been givin such a passion for the school. I almost broke down today knowing that we will never see Patterson, Asumnu, and Watson in UT uniforms ever again. What this season has done for me, I can't explain with words. It simply shows you just how much a team can mean to a community and to the fan base of the university. Today, and forever, I will be proud to be a Vol!!

This may be a stretch, the emotion illicited by this team may also give football recruiting a boost. The exposure from this season has kept UT's name and athletic programs in the public eye.

Well said, 2345! This basketball team restored my pride in being a UT alum. Not just because they were winners, but because of the way they won, on heart and hustle. It was so easy to love this team and to pull for them to win! I wish I could find online the picture of Dane Bradshaw that is in this morning's News-Sentinel. Dane is red-eyed, coming off the court. It made me tear up when I saw it, because the picture (and esp. Dane) epitomizes the heart of this team. If someone can find that picture, please post!

Awwww that's so nice. I hate that this season is over, which is something new to me. I'm so glad the Seniors got to have an awsome year, they've deserved it.

I think this season was just what we all needed as Vol fans. After the gridiron season was over we was all pretty uptight and upset at the world. Coach Pearl and the boys reminded us what it's like to be a proud Vols fan and how great it really is to wear the orange with pride. I really think Tennessee overall sports programs will be right up there with the UNC's and Texas of the college sports world where regardless of the sport we're a top 10 program. I never thought UT hoops would be so fun!

Well said, especially being that you're so far from the homeland...

And I agree with other posters - this basketball season couldn't have come at a better time. After such a disappointing, embarrassing, undeachieving :banghead: (got to stop myself for my health).... football season, b-ball brought fun, respectibility, and just pure love of sport back to our major men's athletics.
