Really. Dooley sucks? Is that what were about, trashing our new coach?
Welcome to Alabama of the 90's. No coach is good enough for Rocky Top because we won a BCS title in the 90's, and we had Kiffin?
Dooley looks like a good, solid hire with alot of potential.
You internet heroes with 2 minute attention spans are just upset that you can't brag to your chat room buddies about the "big name hire".
By the way, what big names are there out there that we had a chance at? Stoops? really? He is going to pull a Kiffin to leave Ok to come here?
Gruden? A guy who has no idea how to recruit or not drop the F bomb when tlking to players.
We need to get over ourselves and be DAMN GLAD we landed a good coach who respects the SEC, UT and most importantly understands what he has been given.
An opportunityto caoach at UT.

Look, Lane Kiffin was all about making the perception of him being a great CFB coach into a reality. It landed him 2 premier coaching jobs in 2 years.
Now lets get on board with Dooley and create our own perception. If we all buy in that perception will become a reality.
This is UT dammit. WE know what that means. Our plyers know what that means. And I believe coach Dooley knows what that means.
The man was competitive against teams with 4 times the talent. He helped land top recruiting classes at LSU.
If he can be competitive with a little less talent in the SEC, then bring in some talent over the next few seasons, UT will be where we all know we belong.
There is plenty of talent out there that would love to play for UT and it's tradition, with parents who will appreciate an honest, respectful approach to recruiting instead of a full court pressure sales job.
In many ways this is a perfect combo of the respectful old SEC style of Phil, but with a youthful, new approach that we all know we needed.

Loved his comments at the press conference. After getting over the initial shock, kinda' like a bride being left at the alter, think we will discover the guy that left us wasn't all that great a guy and we will be better off in the long run. Some initial pain and hurt feelings but we will get through this. Support OUR new coach who certainly said all the right things yesterday.

Thanks and you are right.

I wanted Chucky because of his name and being a splash hire. I wanted Dungy or Lovie because of their morals. I got a coach who is not a splash hire but who is a home run.

Kiffin was all sizzle no steak.

Dooley is all steak and very little sizzle but that sizzle will grow with results in recruiting, results in discipline and results on the field. The man is not a media whore and not a king of the trash talk, but he is a much better interview than Kiffin ever was, because he is the intellectual equal or better than all the local and national media he will speak with and despite being Southern in speech style, he is very quick witted. He is like Steve Spurrier with a mans voice.

I hope not. But I guarantee I will be here regardless of how many games we win next year.
By the way, how many games were we going to win with Cutcliff, Calhoun or Whittingham?

You know, USC is one of those teams that has fans all over so there is plenty of room for you on that bandwagon. Ill even buy your first
USC hat if you want.

i'll be here to champ. cutcliff and calhoun would have won maybe a additional game. whittingham is alot better coach than any of the three. all you have to do is watch football and you would realize this.

I am just amazed that no one is paying you to hire coaches with your obvious expertise. Just a matter of time I am sure.
