This is a bad move for him. Tennessee is a death trap with Fulmer in charge

Don't won't to lose him but it is a head coaching job. Maybe not what he should get but I just hope that Saban is giving him advise.

Will be hilarious when he refuses.

Sounds like he’s gone. Hopefully he’ll stick around for the playoffs. I assume Tosh will be our new DC.

"Details on the proposed deal have not been released, but a snag could come in whether or not the Volunteers allow Pruitt to coach in the College Football Playoff as the Crimson Tide take on Clemson in the semi-final on Jan. 1 in New Orleans. Tennessee would most likely like to have Pruitt join immediately as the early signing period is two weeks away."

I hope he also understands that if he's being hired as Fulmer's puppet, and the team doesn't do so well, he'll also be the fall guy for that in a few years. If that happens, it'll hurt his marketability as a head coach in the future. He will be referenced as "Failed Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt." NOT wishing that on him, just so I'm clear, but the potential is there.

This guy is on the Grudenites level

My thought is I wonder if Phil picked Pruitt to try and hurt us in the playoffs? I wouldn’t put anything past the great pumpkin!

selfishly, sure I want him to stay, turn ut down to add to their ongoing humiliation, but this is also real life and completely understand if he goes - I hate ut, but he’s winning a head coaching lottery in taking the job - do I think he should wait for a better opportunity, yeah maybe since we’re talking ut, but not because I really know any better - and absolutely don’t wish him any personal harm or loss in the process

Bahaha

It's not a good situation that's for sure. Kiffin's situation derailed the offense last year, and people might have forgotten this, but Kirby's defense wasn't quite up to expectations either. Distracted coordinator or new coordinator, neither is good...

Somehow Tennessee's coaching mess blew up in Alabama's face. How's that for a wide radius.

Some TN peeps tend to believe Tosh Lupoi will go with him ... surely not!!! I have to believe SAban will promote him to DC ... and a much better deal to be DC at Alabama vs that dumpster fire in Knoxvegas

You certainly cannot blame someone for taking a 5 million a year job. Tennessee is a fine job, with a schedule that should always mean at least 8 wins.
I'm sure Coach Saban is considering how to handle this situation ..... since this is the fourth time for it to happen. McElwain and Smart worked out well. Kiffin... not so great. I feel like Saban would like to keep him through the playoffs if he thinks Pruitt's mind will be in the right place.I have no idea how this will be resolved... but I think it will be resolved quickly.
I just hope Lupoi is ready .

It's getting really tough for Coach Saban to keep his perfect record against assistants intact. He'll have to face Pruitt and Jimbo every season and possibly Kirby in a SECCG. Being a Bama fan I obviously hope it never ends but if it does it will be interesting to see which one ends it.

Remember, Kirby almost immediately set about going after Alabama guys, including current Alabama players who weren't even supposed to be able to transfer. So, in hindsight it is easy to argue he wasn't focused. It is a bad situation because you can't know for certain the guy is focused and doing his job until after the fact. In the case of Kiffin it was too late because there was one week to make a change. In the case of Kirby, what ever issues might have been laid at his feet for the Clemson game, you darn sure couldn't yank him mid-game. So... in the least Alabama has gone 50/50 with this wrecking things the last two times, but it's basically a bad or worse situation.

Fulmer screws Bama again!

Sorry JP but, unfortunately I can’t wish you “good luck”. You are the enemy now and I still hope UcheaT loses every game.

Really wish schools would put in coach’s contracts that they have to pay the school a buyout if they leave before the season is over, including the playoffs.

Wait, you mean to tell me a coach's career will be negatively affected if his team doesn't do well? SOMEONE TELL PRUITT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE

Just when I start to think UT has the dumbest, most ignorant ass fan base in the country, I'm quickly reminded.......there are Alabama's fans......

This makes me love the Pruitt hire. Especially if he leaves before the playoffs. I hate Bama fans but I will question JP loyalty no matter what I just hate Bama fans. They feel entitled
